so i just recently got a new arcade because my old one was about to break and out of warranty and i already have a hard drive.

so its super loud and i was just wondering if the new xboxs are still like this or if mine is effed up? thanks

My Elite doesn't emit any fan noises at all. I think that's normal for Arcades.

They are all fairly loud.. I have had an elite, pro and arcade.

I still have my first released elite. Loud as hell. You'll get used to it. (Sad to say...)

i just started noticing my 5 year old unit to be very nosiy on start up. i think its the HDD sound i can hear! coz tis loud spinning noise sperarte from the other noises even when there is no disc in the drive.

Saving games to your hard drive can help with some of the noise - you still need the disc to play but becuase it's reading off the hard drive instead of the disc it's a bit quieter. They are all loud though!
