Say you need 560 points (not mentioning any names, Fable) but you can only buy in 1000, 2800, 4000 or something like that. We should be able to just punch in exactly how many we want and it will convert it to dollars and we can just pay with a credit card. Who agrees? I've had 40 points sitting on my account for quite some time...

the whole reason they created points is for this reason. with whole games on demand they allowing you to just take it out of your credit card vs points

yeah i agree. Its super annoying, and most of the time I won't buy it, because I know i'll have so many extra points, so I think its working against them

It's annoying, but it's better than the wii's way of doing it. you have the choice of spending 10, 20, 30, or 50 dollars, but the majority of their games are 5-6 dollars.

Cards come in 20 & 50 dollars, while buying points through the dashboard lets you buy 6.25, 12.50, 25 & 50 dollars. If I just want a 10 dollar game, I either waste 10 bucks for points I may not use for months, or waste 2.50 for the same purpose. Why can't I just get 5 or 10 bucks at a time on my account, or just have a wallet, a la PSN.

Amazon has Xbox Live stuff on their site now, so there's always that option if you'd rather just buy a certain game/DLC and not worry about the points.

But yeah, it would be nice if you could just buy points like that. I have 40 points leftover. What am I supposed to do with that?
