I'm still on the fence about getting Modern Warfare 2, but I was on IGN and seen these new controllers... I'm tired of using the Dpad on the regular 360 controller because it's too stiff when I'm playing SFIV, but the dpad on these Mad Catz controllers look alright...

What are your thoughts on these new controllers?

my friend got the Mad Catz SFIV dpad controller and it almost made me throw up trying to play with it... lol

these don't look half bad though... but idk, they look good but I don't want to get 'em and they feel cheap.

I agree with this and that's my major concern. Not only has stuff broken on me, but when I worked at a video game retailer, we had tons of their stuff come back broken. It's pretty shoddy quality in my opinion. The stuff definitely looks cool, but I don't trust it to not crap out on me mid game.

I bought a SE fightstick from MadCatz for SFIV, having a great time with it and its taken quite a beating and still working fine.

However, I did hear that many people had problems with the first batch of these sticks due to some bad design (loose washers rubbing against the PCB)but I believe the problems were addressed (Well I hope so :?).

If your looking for a controller for SFIV id suggest picking up a Hori stick if you can get one cheap.

Just wondering whats the appeal of a new MW2 specific controller? Do they incorporate turbo fire or something?

In the video, they have the "combat buttons" on the back, which you can map to different buttons so you don't have to take your thumbs off the sticks in order to do certain features (crouch, melee, jump) but other than that, I don't think there's anything special. I doubt IW would add any "turbo fire" considering modded controllers were one of the biggest points of contention for MW1

not only just for fighters, but other games as well... the dpad on the 360 is the worst feature on the console... I'll play gears and press left to switch to shotgun but it'll go to grenades(which is up) and i'll be stuck with a smoke grenade getting blown to bits... so I like the look of the dpad on these mad catz controllers, not just for SF IV but also for Gears 2, MM9, and alot of 2D games I play.

Mad Catz is known for making poor quality products. I once bought from them a protective case for my PSP and some UMD cases. The case broke and scratched my PSP's screen a couple of days later, while the UMD cases jammed shut and wouldn't open until I was forced to break them.

Oh right, that makes a lotta sense I suppose. Was kind of worried that they were just normal pads with turbo functionality and MW2 multiplayer was going to be ruined before it even started :P

Cheers!
