It's good to see a company like EA isn't above honoring guys who truly mean a ton to the sport. I know he is retired, but, Brett Favre really is a legacy player, and I can't think of anyone more deserving of the cover.
Someone who should be on it and who is better and still in the league: Tom brady. One because his team and HIM specifically have been kicking teams in the butt for the last 5 years, 2 if he goes on it the patriots will suck and make me happy.
The Madden Curse continues, as Brett Farve will not be playing next season. Okay, seriously, I expect this is not the final version of the cover. Somewhere on the final product Madden has to be giving Farve a pants massage.

I'm glad he got the cover. He's been such a great player in the league for so long and has always given his best. I think its a good way to honor him, besides putting him in the Hall of Fame.

I thought it might have been nice to have had the likes of Sean Taylor on the cover in memory of his life. I am sure they may have considered it but with Brett Farve's record breaking season they could not pass him. I am actually a Cowboys fan, but I thought the way he was honoured by the league by placing in the Pro-Bowl last season. EA might have considered him because of his tragic death. Saying that there where a couple of guys who lost their lives before the season. I think there was a Patriot backup DE Marquis Hill (I think) and two Broncos players. I just think Sean Taylor was more recognisable than the others.
I haven't bought madden since 06 but putting Favre on the cover makes me interested in purchasing this years edition. I've been a Green Bay Packer Fan since I could walk but when Favre started playing on the team (when I was 6) it completely changed the frame of mind of every Packer fan. We finally had something to be excited about, a player to be excited about. He brought the packers a super bowl, won the MVP 3 times and carried a franchise on his shoulders for the duration he played in Green Bay. Brett Favre was humanized by the media and made vunerable, which I feel that many athletes are not. He struggled with many personal and family problems that were made public by the media. There is only one way I know how to describe Brett Favre and it is Champion. He will forever be the face of the Packers franchise. He is a legend in Wisconsin and of the NFL.
ok yea i agree with one thing that Sage and michel are random and farve is a legend BUT everyone likes the patriots because their good is a VERY bad reason they like them for...... k well everyone else likes them for that reason but i like them cause their a team that you can cheer for and you dont give up hope for when their playing like you watch dolphins their gonna win 2 games thats why i like patriots because when they play you dont give up hope and another thing i agree with you on is that bret Farve is a NFL legend. he has.......he HAD a record setting season and a record setting time in the NFL and he should come back to the packers
