So I'm sure everybody already saw the article in GI this month confirming some of the charactors in the game. I was wondering which charactors would us fans like playing with and so, which charactors would you like to see in the game? These are the ones I would like to play with.

ALREADY CONFIRMED

Wolverine, Iron Man, Chris Redfield, Dante, Hulk, Deadpool, Morrigan, and Ryu

MY MARVEL WISH LIST

Mister Sinister, Carnage, Blade, Lady Deathstrike, Scarlet Witch and Daredevil

MY CAPCOM WISH LIST

Gouken, Samonsuke from Onimusha, Maximo, Ameratsu, Ryoma from Power Stone and Viewtiful Joe

Another repost... And like I said before, a wishlist is pretty useless. Capcom has said that there are going to be around 30 playable characters total on this game. It's going to flop hard. The Dreamcast and PS2 versions of Marvel vs. Capcom II had almost 60 playable characters. So once you get past Wolverine, Iron Man, Ryu, Chun Lee, and other twenty-some characters that you just know are going to be on here there is room for like 4 more. This is an absolute slap in the face to fans of the series that was mainly popular for the vast selection of characters. They are going to sell you a half-finished game for $60 and then expect you to buy DLC packs to get the rest of it.

And for anyone who is gullible enough to believe that the low number of characters is due to having to do 3d modelling or disc space... Smackdown vs. Raw 2010 has 67 playable characters. Yeah... a WWE game has almost 40 more characters than Marvel vs. Capcom 3. The DS version of Smackdown vs. Raw 2010 has 30 playable characters. Way to go Capcom!

I don't agree with this at all. First they said the roster is going to be 30+ and yeah its less then before, but you have to understand that they are creating this game from scratch. They are creating everything new using the MT Framework engine so they don't have the luxery to build off of previous work like Smackdown vs Raw 2010 does. If they were going to keep the game the exact same as before then they would've been able to keep all their previous characters and just add more but they are being more original, which is better.

How is this a slap in the face to the fans? A slap in the face to fans IMO would be to keep the game the exact same, add new characters and stages and just keep doing what they already know works. As a fan, I'm glad to see them come out with a fresh looking game that can revolutionize fighters just like the last one. I have no clue where you get the idea they'll be selling a half-finished game and EXPECTING you to buy DLC for the rest. You know you have a choice in what you pay for right?

SvR has had the benefit of using the same models for the past what, 10 years? OMG. NBA 2K10 has 400+ players and SvR only has 67? Hah. Laughable.

To make you fanboys look even worse... The original Smackdown vs. Raw for next generation consoles has 38 wrestlers on it. If you really want to say the Smackdown series has been around for 10 years you look even more ridiculous because the Marvel vs. Capcom series has been around longer.

"I have no clue where you get the idea they'll be selling a half-finished game and EXPECTING you to buy DLC for the rest. You know you have a choice in what you pay for right?"

Let's see... I get the idea because they are releasing a game that everyone would want to see 80+ characters on with 30 characters. I am sure a company like Capcom that only released about 15 versions of Street Fighter II would never think of making the first game short so they could sell additional content afterwards.

I know I have the option of what I pay for. Trust me, I won't be paying for this game or the DLC until it's under $20 which will be soon after release. I stopped by just to ask why bother making a wishlist when you already know ove 3/4 of who is going to be in the game.

well if u think about it it will eventually be a slap in the face of gamers, cuz most likely the game will reach 60 characters, but through DLC. Im sure itll be like 35-40 characters and the remaining 15-20 will be dlc so itll possibly cost 80 dollars after dlc of characters, i could only imagine how high the cost will go after capcom wants to charge to release new game modes.

The ignorance of gamers is amazing. When games went to $60 everyone whined and complained but now the companies charge $80-$100 and the fanboys blindly support it by having sympathy for billion dollar companies. "Well well it's from the ground up!", "Well well it takes time to make 3D models!" So in essence the same tasks that game designers have done since the SNES. But on the SNES companies couldn't afford to give you a half finished product because they had no way to sell you the rest of the game. Now they charge $60 for half the game they gave you on a 16-bit system and the customer base is too naive to realize it's costing you $100 for the effort that you used to get on a $40 game.

Billy, why are you so fast to call people names like fanboy or ignorant when they dont share your ideas? In no way am I a fanboy for any company. I'm a computer animation major, and I know the different stages and difficulties in game making. IMO releasing a game with 30+ characters, new gameplay, new stages, and on a new engine is not half-assed at all. I understand what your saying about the game probably having some of the same characters as before but again I don't see this as that big of a negitive and if they are putting characters in the game like Dante then I wanted to hear other peoples top choices for new characters.

On another note, why would anybody expect a game that is being created from scratch to have a roster of 80+? When the first MvC came out it had less then 25 characters. Street Fighter 4 had 25 characters, Capcom vs Tatsunoko has 26, Soul Calibur 4 has 34 characters, Tekken 6 has around 43 characters and Dead or Alive 4 had less then 25 also. So are all these game half-assed also?

I called you a fanboy because you are defending Capcom with this "ground up" idea. Almost every game besides most sports titles is from the ground up. They are taking 2 enormous franchises that you could literally take 100+ characters from easily and throwing in 30. Now other fighting games 30 is a decent number, but fans of the series have come to expect more from it than 30 characters. Maybe it's not half-assed for something like Dead or Alive, and we have come to expect this from Street Fighter through the years, but Marvel vs. Capcom has a history as one of, if not the best fighing games for a console. You honestly like the idea of waiting this long and getting close to half the content of the previous installment? I don't. Marvel vs. Capcom 2 was the first one of these to go on a console, and it came with almost 60 characters. That was over 10 years ago now. So I question how you can make a game 10 years later and it have somewhere around half of the content of a Dreamcast game. I am 100% sure that this game would have just as many playable characters as Marvel vs. Capcom 2 did if they didn't have the means to release more content through DLC.

Really? The last Marvel vs game came out in 2000. That's BEFORE the PS2 and Xbox came out. They can't recycle the same sprites (those have to be drawn, the character models in SvR do not have to be drawn. Ever wonder why there's no "Create a Fighter" in fighting games while there has been a CAF in every wrestling game ever?) If you're going to bring up stupid points, I will. Smackdown vs Raw is garbage. NBA 2K10 has about 400 fully modeled players. SvR is laughable.

Name one fighting game that has added 10+ people through DLC. Those terrible Dragonball games don't count because they don't have to worry about balancing the roster. Go ahead. I'll wait. I'll keep bumping this thread until you name one game that has released with 10+ fighters through DLC.

Capcom had the benefit of using sprites from other games. The models they use in their Vs games are not new models, they are taken from previous versions from games. For example, Sagat's Alpha model is used in Capcom vs SNK, it wasn't a new model. Now, feel free to list a game on current gen consoles that has models capable of being in a MvC3. Don't forget, it needs to be similar to Tatsunoko vs Capcom models, which means even though Spider-Man and Wolverine have had games, those models won't work because MvC3 isn't going to be a 3D fighter. Stop being so ignorant. We're not fanboys, we just know what we're talking about.

I don't have the time to argue stupid points with you about how hard it is to draw cartoon models. All I can say is that the guys who made Marvel Ultimate Alliance much have worked non-stop for years to do such a feat.

You know what you are talking about do you? The Playstation 2 released in Japan in early 2000, it released in the US in late 2000. Is there a point to that?

"Name one fighting game that has added 10+ people through DLC. Those terrible Dragonball games don't count because they don't have to worry about balancing the roster. " So... name one, but not that one lol? Don't worry I wouldn't have named it anyways. Just because a game hasn't released it means that it can never happen right? I must have been hallucinating when I saw that Capcom was releasing SUPER Street Fighter IV. And if you think Marvel vs. Capcom is a balanced series then I doubt you have played it much at all. It's one of the most notoriously imbalanced fighters out there. Sentinal abuse ring a bell? Oh well, probably not.

So... I have named games that have someone fought the adversity and found ways to have more than 30 playable cartoon characters. I have given an example of a game that Capcom rereleased with more playable characters. And I said I don't have time for stupid arguements about how hard it is to draw cartoon characters. You can bump this for 2 weeks I won't be looking at it so feel free. Enjoy your game that is half as big as it was 10 years ago.

I have yet to see the list of announced players.. But i'd like Nightcrawler, Thor, Magneto, Red Skull and somebody like Vision
