I just got me2 on my xbox , I'm a true hardcore rpg/action fan , i enjoyed all the fallout series , the stalker series and heck even borderland , now dont get me wrong the game is beautiful and the story is truly breath taking , Ive finished about 5 missions , but guys i fell like the game is over rated , the fight scenes are mediocre and the leveling up is quite shallow , am i missing some thing , please help me find if this game is worth the 9.0 rating or its rly over rated.

I loved it. But I dont see almost any RPG elements. Its mostly a 3rd person shooter with some dialog and story. ME2 is only of the first games I am played through to the end in a long long time.

You stated that you are a hardcore RPG fan, so if you expect a hardcore RPG from Mass Effect 2 you will be disappointed. Just treat it as a third-person shooter and you will find it quite good.

As most people are saying, it's more a third person shooter than an RPG, especially looking at ME1. If you want to know why it got a 9.0, read the review.

Maybe your playing as a soldier. Choose your class to be a vanguard or infiltrator instead. That should make battles a bit more fun. As a vanguard you get to charge enemies with a shotgun and throw people. Infiltrator is a sniper class. I consider this game as an rpg, it's like pokemon on the gameboy. There are 3 shield types enemies have (barrier, shield and armor), and they each have their weaknesses. So use powers that weaken each type of shield like ammo powers that your squad can have.

Yeah, it was at the beginning when you get to create your character. I think you missed it because you chose the default shepard and not create your own.

i personally think it is overrated, its a 3PS with some RPG elements (unlike the first one, which is a masterpiece) ME2 is too linear, no customisation and there feels like very little incentive to level up, most of the skills are rubbish

I found me1 to be a much deeper game with much better leveling and customization. I thought me2 had a much better fighting system and a more fluid conversation system. I liked me2 better overall but i thought it was missing alot of things that me1 had. hopefully me3 will combine the 2 and make it the game of the year it ought to be.

Why do you need the help of others to generate your own opinion of a game?

And the first game is the better of the two, not including design flaws and some glitches.

Well, if you removed Fallout 3's VATS, the combat would be atrocious.

But yeah, you're on the "Third Person Shooter" side of the ideology. The game really is a bit lacking in the RPG aspect.

Third person "Ideology"? Do you even know what "Ideology" means? last time I checked "First Person Shooter" was not a doctrine.

Check it out: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/ideology

No you shouldn't! For a man to become smarter then he already is, he must first make mistakes! Peace.
