First review out i beleive.

Yep. The mag is a little gun shy in handing out 10s like it did the year Mass Effect came out. Anyway, should be great.
When an RPG gets a 9.5....thats usually means that its pretty epic, I will be at Gamestop the first minute this gets released, the reviews are a green light.
Good job for them, but I wouldn't put my money on only on that. I do think mass 2 will be hot item but I would wait more reviews. In these days no one realy knows who have paid to who to make a review better. So I would wait to hear more when it comes out... and on a side note 8.5-10 the game is good and I don't realy see the point to say one is better. I think when it comes to that it's more or less a personal tast that give the few last points. or take them away.
Mass Effect 2 is the only game that gives me goose bumps in anticipation. I just loved ME1, and I know ME2 will be awesome. The reviews coming out right now shows that this game is gonna be well worth the purchase.gamer082009
Same with me, cant wait for part2!
I will probably be so hooked on it just like part1 haha.
damn straight it got a 9.5, now what will gamespot give it... hmmmm?EGRO_RenagadeXsilly poster gamespot doesnt review things anymore, id bet money it wont get reviewed for atleast a week after its out on here
"For all the myriad improvements that make Mass Effect 2's visuals so appealing and its combat so exhilarating, it's ultimately the way it moves us that make it some memorable," it says.simo98088
I really hope you've misquoted that, cuz thats lousy grammar for a supposedly 'professional' journalist.

Gamespot actually takes time to review longer games, unlike many publications that simply push out a review as fast as possible for website hits.
i'm kind off skeptical with the review, but anyway, the score given was great. i haven't played the game, and they have, so i'll reserve judgement.
i wouldn't mind the same gamplay from the first game, but critics are praising the gameplay in the reviews already, which is a good sign, gaemplay still matters after all in a game. i care about the story more than anything. i'm always scared of what will happen to the story. it looks good, but it looks average also, but i'll judge that after playing the game.
the storylooks good because you're working with an organization that gets the job done at any cost, which could force you to make tough decisions, and from the looks of it, they might just work for the reapers. i suspect mass effect: revelation novel wil give a hint at me2's story. for all you know, the very person that stopped the reaper invasion in me1, is a reaper himself / herself after cerberus rebuilt shepard. the cyborg shepard's eyes looks somewhat familiar to the sovereign saren's eyes.
on the other hand, it looks bad because it looks like all you're doing is just collecting squad mates and go for a suicide mission. but i think it's highly likely the story will be good, after all the only reason it looks bad is because bioware doesn't really reveal story that much. i wont be suprised if they're keeping a secret about the dead shepard ending. i doubt they would reveal that ending that easily without a catch. i did recall them saying 'you will play as shepard in me3, but not your shepard'. see the underlined words. it's a bit vague don't you think? they also said the story path you choose for me2 will open up to wildly different conclusions in me3. maybe you will get to play the 'dead' shepard in me3, but in a totally different form, hence '"it's not your shepard". if cerberus can revive shepard, what makes you think the reapers are less capable.

Shepard is a cyborg!? since when?
soon to be in me2. cerberus equiped him with some robotic parts i believe. just take a look at the oxm cover of the issue where me2 got reviewed, and you'll get the idea, then there's me retribution, a project where cerberus is attempting to equip a subject with reaper technology. if i'm not mistaken that would be the prequel, or sequel, to me2, so there's a possibility that shepard got implanted with reaper implants, just like how saren got implanted with reaper technology. shepard could either be the very first subject, or the one after the subject in the book.

Well, thx for clearing things up, cyborg Shepard sounds kinda interesting. Anyway even though I haven't played the game, but I just can't believe that the story of ME2 is disappointing, it's not even possible! I've just seen the Sci vs Fi: Mass Effect 2 video in GT, and the story seems epic.

it's highly unlikely. from the looks of it oxm rushed through the story just to get the review out first. they probably didn't even bother exploring the side quest fully, go through the conversation with other characters, read the codex, and probably even reviewed the story with the action game style story in mind, aka short and simple, because they did state the story is somewhat slow.
as for the pc gamer review, i noticed that one of their negatives are the paragon and renegade scoring are too ambiguous. i suspect they didn't have any idea about how the conversation wheel works like. the top-right options are positive and the bottom-right is negative, with the middle one being neutral of course. the critic probably chose the bottom one thinking it's the good option when it's the bad one, then got a renegade point and starts scratching his head over it.

if you look at the new dev diary there's a short clip panning around Shepards face which shows glowing red scars on his face similar to that of Saren when he transforms into a full blown geth/reaper thing towards the end of ME1.Official Xbox Magazine9.5 / 10i before e except after c and i wouldnt really put too much faith into a review by the official xbox magazineFirst review out i beleive.

same here. looks like they've rushed through the reviewing process to be the first to come out with a review. i prefer the pc gamer review despite the lower score. the one from games tm is also good, and they gave a perfect score for it.
well... it's Xbox magazine, of course they're going to give their own game a high score.
Wow.. Playstation Magazine gave Uncharted 2 a 10! well... DUH!
that does not change the fact that Uncharted 2 is game of the year for 2010, and I believe ME2 is the samewell... it's Xbox magazine, of course they're going to give their own game a high score.
