Mass Effect Age Rating?

I thought it was an 18+ but I saw it with a 12 rating so which 1 is it?

our (UK) rating system is fickle. We have both the BBFC and PEGI, however the BBFC are law meaning you cannot buy that piece of media without being that age. While PEGI are just advisery, technicly you dont need to be that age but shops still wont sell it to you without ID proving you are that age.
