Well it seems that Mass Effect and Halo have the same storyline. Halo 3 had the Forerunners who made the flood and lost control of them and Mass Effect has the PRotheans who made the Gest and lose control of them. Also the Forerunners and the Protheans were highly advanced races that lost existence. Also did Earth band into one central place in Halo like the Alliance in Mass Effect?

you could be on to somthing, but you also have to realize that no matter how original somthing may seem, it has probably be done before. halo for example takes alot of influence from greek history and mytholigy.

What seems likely is that the Forunners were perhaps human alikes while the enemies in Mass Effect bear more reemblance to the enemies of the exact same name in Alastair Reynolds Revelation Space novels

Ah, I was wrong the Quarians made an advanced AI called the Geth that soon got out of hand and killed them. Also the Geth are still alive and they attack in the game. The Protheans were a race that was highly advanced and mysteriously vanished. I don't know if the Quarians and Protheans were at the same time or not. But that's also why AI is banned in the "Mass Effect Universe".

Meh? The story that a highly advanced race existed and was extinct to their own greed or ignorance is a ancient mythology as well as a scientific theory.

Many, many games, books, movies and even comics use that concept. If you thought Halo was the first game with a story like that you are very wrong. There are much older 2D PC games with practically the same background story.

EDIT: example of movie using this background story: The Matrix and on some level I, Robot.

The Matrix? Eh, I never really got deep into the storyline of it.
