Mass Effect delayed to September!! (link provided)

"BioWare's much-anticipated Xbox 360 RPG Mass Effect has finally been pencilled in for release this September, months after the June/July arrival date previously expected.



The news comes from an official Microsoft event this morning, though no more details on the release were offered.



The September release puts Mass Effect in head-to-head competition with fellow first-party RPG Blue Dragon, which is also released that month. This might seem silly to you budding industry analysts, but it's probably just as beneficial for Microsoft to avoid the infamous Summer drought."

Not really surprised since pretty much all games suffer a delay at some point but it does now give me the finances to pick up C&C£ with Forza 2 which between them should last me a few months.fordies

There is always disappointment in a delay, but we all must understand this game has to be perfect, MS is expecting this game to sell a ton of systems and to rush it out of the door, before it is ready would be a huge mistake

lol, yeah i get what you're saying, but why do they even announce these games so early and make us wait.... they never used to do this to us all the time.  maybe they should push it back till 2009 just to make sure it's super extra perfect...

I saw the other day that Best Buy has it listed for release on 10/15/2007.

Me too. If this is true then I'm extremely disappointed. I thought they were in the polishing stages a couple months ago. 

Q3 and Q4 are definetly going to be the best months in gaming history, thats all i can say.

are u stupid? a guy from bioware explains in the link that no website will ever have the release date before its up on the mass effect offical website.  There is no date yet released so hopefully it will still come out Q2

lol, because gamestop is always spot on with their release dates... give me a break.  it may be delayed but just wait for bioware to announce it.  and please don't ever use gamestop release dates to prove anything... lol

Well the guys at bioware have obviously heard about this "september release date" and if it were true they probaly wouldnt have danecd around it and just came out and said it was true, so september probaly isnt when its released, maybe august or july. nobody knows but bioware.

yeah i said the game may be delayed, but gamestop changing the date doesn't confirm anything.  no one knows what kind of random method gamestop uses for declaring release dates.  these dates change all the time and it doesn't mean anything that they changed it is what i'm saying.

I'm gonna be so broke from september - november because of all the games coming out.

wheee instead of being able to play it over the summer when i have time, i get to play it when i go back to school! summer should be the best time for games not the worst!bluem00se

Yeah!  I'll be starting a job by then so I won't have the enjoyment of being able to get home from school at 3 and play it until 12 at night :( 9 to 5 ftl
