Okay I'm not trying to get the crap flamed out of me or anything but am I the only one who DID NOT like Mass Effect. I mean it looked great and everything but I just found it really boring. I rented this game for 5 days and I played it for about 12 hours all together and just did not enjoy it at all. Now I like RPGs and Sci-Fi but this was a very repetitive and boring. So any opinions are welcome but again don't flame me like crazy.

Not every game was meant for everyone. there's is no harm in not digging a game, that's life. (what a weirdo for not liking mass effect. oops did I write that?)

Everyone has a right to his/her opinion. I really dig Mass Effect, and the story is by far the best of any RPG I've played. But for some they may find having countless convos with NPCs a chore.

Well, I can understand your disappointment with Mass Effect, but I do have to disagree.

While I did find the overall game to be a bit "sterile" and devoid of a certain charm, I do think the story was pretty amazing and the dialogue was definitely topnotch. The characters were also very memorable and I personally loved the Wrex character out of all of them. But I definitely wouldn't say that it was a disappointing game as I did get my enjoyment from playing it and I even played the entire game about 4 times so far. But as was said already, not every game is meant for every person and there will always be a game that you don't like. There are plenty that I don't care for either.

I know what you mean. I had/have a very hard time getting into that game. I found the main character pretty boring, well most characters boring. Also I don't like the universe, its just not interesting at all. At least with KOTOR you knew most of the races and settings like who the jedi and sith are and all that stuff. But in Mass Effect they just throw you right into this game like your suppose to know everything and they just don't make it very interesting.... idk....

Well thats my mini rant.

you have to level up to really enjoy ME imo, it's hard to even aim unless you level up...i guess it's their way of trying to get you to do several playthroughs and giving the game replay value?

i think the game is very good, but the side missions are beyond repetitive...once you do one, you've done them all! :?

I found the main storyline very interesting and it didnt seem repetitive to me at all. Although the side quests did get very boring and repetitive.

I thought the game was amazing from start. So, I don't see how someone that loves RPG's would hate that game.

If you don't like RPG's than obviously you will not like it.

Bah, it's nothing. KOTOR was nigh on unplayable, at least 90% of the time ME keeps a steady clip.

TBH the main thing I don't like about ME is the combat system. If the game is an RPG I wish it would play like one, a pause/lock-on would be better or should at least be option for those who don't want to play it like a shooter. I even turned the target assist up but I still felt the game was too shooter-based for my liking.

Mass Effect was sweet but it's not the best. I mean it was good one time through and I barely had the motivation to play it a second time through. I mean to get the extreme power gamer achievement, you would have to play like 3 or 4 times through and do everything to get to level 60. The storyline was sweet and well thought out. But the recharging of skills was pretty dumb. It reminded me of World of Warcraft. In my opinion it is just a rental because there is no online.

I didn't like it either. I found no fun in it at all, and didn't see any reason to keep playing so I stopped. I only rented it though, thank god.

i like the combat, but i also shooters. the framerate annoys the heck out of me.

Uhhh.....It's a BIOWARE game. If you like bioware games you wont be dissapointed. You're bored because it has a lot of dialogue and story....well that's what you should have expected. It's very in-depth, and very much about immersing yourself. If you found Mass Effect boring, you found Kotor and baldur's gate boring.

It seems that you probaly did not get very far you must have only been on the citadel part of the game which can be very slow going around and talking to the different characters. But to each his own Mass Effect is one of my favorite RPG's.

There is nothing wrong with being bored with a game - I'm just amazed that you played through 12 hours even though you didn't like it.

Playing Mass Effect is like having two scoops of raisins in every bite of your cereal, both delicious and rewarding. But if you didnt like it, its ok everything isnt for everyone.
