I'll be really happy if they unmask the Shadow Broker, just like they're doing to the Illusive Man in ME: Retribution and ME: Evolution
what about if he is the shadow broker and is playing everything off cool cause idk one line that stuck from mass effect 2 was i forget how far in it is but illusive man is talking to you and he say can we trust your information and illusive man says " Information is my specialty" or something like that idk im sure hes not but would be hell of a twist .I'm pretty sure the Shadow Broker was around before humanity came about.
Here's an interesting theory I made up for the Illusive Man recently btw:
It might've been done in other games/films, and it mightn't be too important for stopping the Reapers, but what if the Illusive Man was Shepard's father? It would be a good twist, even if a little clichéd.
The Illusive Man was already an adult when the Prothean bunker was discovered (pointed out in Ascension), so there's the age factor.
Shepard's dad is always listed as "dead" at the start of ME1, and the name is never mentioned in any of the pre-service histories.
In the Spacer background, both parents were Alliance soldiers, and the mother still is, but there's no mention of the father beyond that. It's likely that TIMwas in the Alliance (Cerberus was part of the Alliance too), but then when they broke off properly he went into deep cover.
The Colonialist background states that Shep's family died when slavers hit Mindoir, but it doesn't specify which members, or if the whole family died. TIM could've been away, or escaped notice by the slavers, and then went into cover with Cerberus shortly after.
The Eathborn background says that Shep barely had any parents for his childhood, so it's possible that TIM went into cover at a very early time in Shep's life.
And as all these events occur some time apart in the ME timeline, TIM could've been at every one of those events, etc.
During the course of the two games, Shepard never mentions seeing his father die, nor does he talk about him at all.
In ME2, TIM is quite friendly to Shepard, too friendly in fact, to a complete stranger he apparently only saw on TV. He somehow forgives everything Shepard had done to damage Cerberus, and doesn't even mention it.
As we also learn from the game and comics, Cerberus is ready to spend all their funds on restoring Shepard's body, and it turns out they're already looking out for him even before ME1 starts (talk to EDI).
So with that backing the theory up, what do you think?
