mass effect HELP!!!!

i barely got the game today and i want to know how many is there.also how do you rank up you squad and how do you know what class your person in the squad is like im a soldier but i dont know what my ppl in my squad are help plz

I have no clue what you were asking in your first question. I'll just skip that. To rank up your squad you go to the menu and select the "Squad" selection. There you can use the triggers to cycle through your character and your two other members.To see what type of character they are look at the top right of the screen when you are in the Squad menu. Remember, not every race has the same classifications and combat types as you (so not all of them are categorized as Soldier, Adept, etc. Some like the Krogan are called "Battlemasters").
