Mass Effect = Jade Empire, KOTR and KOTR2

Why is everyone so hyped for this game? I mean really. It's the exact same mechanics as Knights of the Old Republic and Jade Empire. They just threw a different wrapper on it.

I wish Bioware would pull their heads out of their sphincters and try something new. I would love to see a GOOD RPG on the 360. BTW I do not consider Blue Dragon a good RPG. IT's generic and boring. Although admittedly I have not tried Eternal Sonata, so I can't judge that. I want some Final Fantasy, (not online either), or maybe some Dragon Quest. Why can't Squaresoft create good RPG's for the 360 instead of crap like Sylpheed. ~sigh~

The combat is completely different. The setting is completely different. The graphics are completely different.

eternal sonata is an amazing jrpg for the 360 get that. if u like dragon quest than blue dragon might be for u, its character design and artwork is by akira toriyama who did dq journey of the cursed king and the dragon ball series'.

If you think the mechanics are "exactly the same" then you need to do some reasearch on this game. Besides, while apparently you didn't enjoy those games, lots and lots of people did. You like different types of RPG's...fine...go play one. But why rip a company for making a game with similarities to other great games they created previously?

Well dude just cause it's made by the same developer doesn't mean it will necessarily it'll be the same game. Sure it has RPG elements like it's predecessors and a great story as well, but other than that there totally different games. It's as simple as this; if you don't think it'll be good don't get it, it's your loss.

Why do you mention Blue Dragon at all? It may not have been good but its not at all related to Bioware (who ALSO made Baldurs Gate 2, which in my view is the best PC game ever made). As for Mass Effect, it looks awesome, and though it borrows elements from KOTOR, that game rocked, so I don't see the problem. I agree that more RPGs are needed on the 360 and Sqaresoft is as good as dead now (Mistwalker is the future, mark my words) but slagging off good game developers like Bioware is hardly going to encourage new RPG titles.

Mass Effect is a very fun game, it looks alot like KOTR in terms of camera angles and what not, but the game has a fantastic story line and the random upgrades to your guns and what not are quite a bit of fun to screw around with. Also the character creation is very well done. The only issue is it gets bogged down and slows down like KOTR does. Either way I'm about 3 hours into it and it's so far very interesting. No I didn't buy the game it's called modding your 360, the game went online about a week ago.

i pretty much think that this game copied the resident evil 4 camera, the gameplay of ghost recon, and the enviroment of battle star galactica and all those nerd things, the graphics suck and looks just like COD3 or medal of honor airborne(look at the textures) so, the transformers game, Bee the movie game and ratatouille>mass effect

and u cant tell me troll because this is not thefail effect topic, so i say that this is the most overated game ever( even more than H3) and sucks.

do you see now its much much more than just another of biowares games - its their new era. Also you ask for a brilliant rpg on 360 - are you mad we have fable 2 on its ways although it wont be for a good year yet, but why not buy oblivion you can get hours of fun out of that. Just read more and open your eyes to more games.

You all need to chill.. Play the damn game and then judge for youself, as it doesn't really matter what the reviewers think, what the users of gamespots forums think or what even I think.. If you like it then its for you as there have been games so hyped and loved by all and yet ive hated them ya know.. reviews and opinions mean **** if you like it its good if you don't then its bad.. problem solved?.
