Right ill probably get told off for saying this, but i have never played any of the Mass Effect games. With all the hype surrounding the Mass Effect3 release i was wondering if i should take the plunge and buy the first 2.

I have a few questions,

1. Are they all must have games?

2. What kind of games would you compare them too?

If u plan on gettin ME 3 then u should get the first 2 as u are able to import ur save file from each game to the next. They are both good games but in my opinion Mass effect is nothin compared to ME2. If u seen the Best of 2010 awards right now Me2 has a really good chance of gettin goty this year. Ull be doin urself a favour if u get them both

Both of them are pretty cheap by now, so you really have nothing to lose in buying the first one. If like the first then you should love thethe second.

Ok thanks for the replies, what are the games like to play? Anything like Fallout for the controls and Play style? or is it not open world?

they not as open world in the fallout sense. But rather u get to explore around the galazy and stuff. ME2 doesnt have as many rpg elements as Mass effect 1 does but the controls are much more responsive and crisp.

Almost identical to KOTOR? Yeah, okay. TC get the first one, if you like it then might as well get the second one.
