Both are games worth checking out, if you only buy one rent the other. If you are looking for a good shooter, bio. If you want a long rpg then Mass. Depends on what you prefer more.

Wow that's a tough choice. If I had to pick one to buy it would definitely be Mass Effect - because there is no way you will finish that game in a single rental time (if you get into the side quests and all there is anyway).

Bioshock is sweet though.

Still while it's a super close call - if I could only get one it would be Mass Effect.

I'd personally go with Mass Effect, I completely dug it and am on a second play through now. Bioshock was really good, but is significantly shorter and doesn't really have much replay value imo. You could finish Bioshock with a rental for sure.

If you want a great FPS it's Bioshock

If you're looking for a great RPG it's Mass Effect

They are both top tier in their respective categories. It's a win/win situation whichever you choose.

I say bioshock is strictly a rent. The campaign is good but its short. Also there isnt anything warranting multiple playthrough. Mass effects achievements provide you with upgrades that make you want to go through the game as many as 5 times or more. You can make so many different types of hybrid classes for your character after your first 2 playthroughs. Spend the 60$ on Mass Effect and rent Bioshock.

Played both and preferred Bioshock by a far margin. Both had excellent stories, but enjoyed Bioshocks gameplay. The side missions in mass effect just got so repetatively boring.
