well both are of great value. It depends on both what kind of gameyou are looking for and what kind of games do u already have.
The Orange Box is an Action/Horror FPS (half-life), interesting puzzle game that will definitely grab your attention (Portal), and a team based multiplayer shooter (TF2).
Mass Effect is an open world RPG squad based strategyshooter game (a mouthful, yes).
As for my tastes, I've already preordered Mass Effect and am picking it up this tuesday. As for the Orange Box, I'm going to wait until xmas.
Mass efect, personally I didn't liked the orange box, I was thinking more of portal, with very complicated and chaleging puzzles... well for me its a desilusion, only worted for episode 2... so far
it depends on what games you are into if it is shooters then orange box is a great value if it is rpg's then mass effect looks to be the best so get that
Bear in mind that orange box has two old games making up a large chunk of it - Half-Life 2 and Half - Life 2 : episode one. Mass effect looks like a great RPG (of which there are few on the xbox). It'll last you ages as well. Orange box has 5 games in 1 box - very good value and if you like multiplayer it has Team Fortress 2 which is brilliant.
don't be stupid, dude. Mass effect is a $60 game that will take you monthes to compelte, whereas the orange box is full of gam,es you can buy by themselves anytime you want with steam
if you did a search, this exact topic has been covered before.
what I said then and still say. buy the newer game, a lot of ppl have bought the orange box and will be selling it dirt cheap very soon if they aren't already
