I think YOU should quit YOUR complaining. The forums on this site are a resource just like any other, his question is valid and if you don't think it should be posted than don't respond and it will drop down to the next page. He is no way in violation of the TOS agreement. I don't trust many of the user reviews, have you actually read most of them? They're garbage, uninformative and biased. And I'm not saying that you are going to get completely straight answers here either, but you will certainly get a second opinion.
I was very hyped for mass effect, then gamespot gives it an 8.5 and for some reason .....HeroxOfxThexDay
Are you aware that 8.5 is a good score. You make it seem like the game was scored a failure.

I understand its a good score, i was just a little letdown, i thought it would have gotten at least a nine, but other than that it was confusing, game informer gave it a 9.75
For the people that are concerned with the technical problems. All I have noticed (in about 40 hours of playing it) is framerate drops occasioanlly (you might not even notice most of them), texture pop-in when the game first loads up and in the loading of a cutscene, load times (specifically while riding in the elevators, and these are only about 10 - 15 seconds), and the fact that the game auto-saves before large battles but it save before the coversations and not after (this means, that if you fail the battle you have to sit through the conversation again. However, you can just jam the x-button to try and skip through the conversation).
I hope this helps.

ha thanks man,
Mass Effect was a great game, and is a top 5 GOTY candidate imo, and many others.
Combat takes a while to get used to, but once you do, if you're like me you will come to love it. I think ME is just one of those games that as a 360 owner if you do not experience it, you are missing out. If it isn't already ME is an essential game for every 360 collection.

also if you can answer this for me, i have a friend and he said he beat it in 8 hours, when i heard there was like 30 something is eight hours just include the main storyline and the thirty hours extra or does it just depend on how you play?
you should get gamefly then you can keep games as long as you want and only pay like 10 $ per game you rent per month. Then there would be no risk and youd be getting alot of games for as long as you want. then if you miss an old game on there rent it again. its a perfect solution to everything. plus you can rent up to 3 games at a time . im not advertising im just saying then you wouldnt have to ask if you should get it it.
i was wondering the same thing, im in the same boat still on the fence on this game. ive read all the reviews and they all say its a great game, but has lots of technical issues, but also heard that it doesnt really effect the gameplay too much. i might end up just getting it, i got some giftcards this christmas so i might just end up buying it for the heck of it. i did the same with oblivion, im not a real big rpg guy but i just gave it a shot and had a blast with oblivion. so i might end up doin the same here soon. if i do i will let u know what i think.talon9724
I think some of the reviews of this game were way off. To the point I question whether or not they even played the game. You can play this game however you want. I think it was the review on this site that said if you play it like a shooter you are going to die alot, and thats just not the case at all. You can certainly use your teams powers and be very tactical about everything, but you can seriously get through this game no problem only using guns. You can totally play this game as a shooter if you want to. I heard complaining about there is too much time spent in menus and they are tough to navigate and blah blah blah, I just have not had the same experience and I have already gone through the game twice. I really do not have any issues with the menus. My only knock on this game is graphically. Sometimes the game looks really good, but other times it looks pretty poor. Overall the graphics are good, but they are just not equal to the rest of the game. With some graphical issues though the game is still phenomenal, so good that most normal people wont be bothered at all. I also wish the game was longer, the controls on the mako are a bit shaky, and I wish there were some cool upgrades on the mako. Either mass effect or bioshock are my two favorite games, I just cant pick which I prefer.
