Looks like they don't want to affect the the difficulty curve. Only your decisions will be passed on to ME 2.
PS: The game looks sick and I can't wait....

Doesn't matter, game will be INSANITY anyway.hillelslovak
I know, I'm just warning those that are trying to make a level 60 character in order to move the stats into ME 2 :P

For me, that would ruin ME2 to a certain point. A huge part of the fun in ME 1 was building your character, like in all rpgs.
Stats may not carry over, but it seems your level at the end will have an impact on ME2, in some way or another. So might be a reason to get a lvl 60 saved game.

Just having your decisions passed on I think is freaking awesome. I will have to play through Mass Effect again & determine exactly what decisions I want to pass with me.http://xbox360.ign.com/dor/objects/14235013/mass-effect-2/videos/masseffect2_vdp_061209.html

Oh man I haven't looked forward to a game this much in a long time
Not bothered at all that the stats don't transfer. Even if the difficulty curved to balance it, then you would be going through the game without much leveling to do. Part of the fun is starting out simple and by the end, everyone in your party is just tearing it up. I'm really excited about the idea that decisions made in the first game will follow you into the second game, though. New standards.
What decisions will be transferred? I hope just the main story decisions. I played through the game a second time for the DLC and I didn't really do any side missions because they are pretty repetitive. MuffinPunkSome side quests will be transferred as well. But as long as you did them the first time you beat the game, you can just select that save game for when you start ME2. Every time you beat the game ME makes a save game for New Game+.
