OXM says a lot of things. Mass Effect will probably be a beautiful game but I am going to wait until it comes out. Then I'll check the demo and/or rent it.
I'm going to wait and see if it's THAT good. I'm a big fan of BioWare games, but no matter what the hype is, their games all feel like incremental upgrades to Baldur's Gate. I think Mass Effect will be an awesome game, but not as revolutionary as people are hoping.
i dont realy think any game that could be physicaly produced right now could "redifine" gaming...i mean what is that supposed to mean? im sure it will be a great game...but my bets on it wont be even as good as some of the ones that are already out...the only games that ever came close to redifining gaming are halo and super mario brothers
Mass Effect will be one of the most promising games to come out yet if everything they say is true. To me, every next gen game does something new to gaming and Mass Effect will hopefuly change it in a lot of positive ways such as the virtual actor thing.
This game dosen't really look all that appealing to me, I don't really find much entertainment in the trailers. I'll probably rent it though, I'm not a fan of RPG games but Oblivion was just a big "WOW".
I personally can't wait for this game. "Redefine gaming"? I hope so, but probably not. However, I'm sure it will be a great game just like all of Biowares other games have been.
Great graphics, emotions, and the ability to choose what you wish to say. Destroying the galaxy will be quite fun, thats for sure. But redifining gaming...doubtful, but it is Bioware you never know they make damn good games.
yeah this game looks awesome, im so hyped about this year, i mean were getting a handful of potentially great killer app games, like mass effect, bioshock, assassin's creed looks amazing, and of course halo 3. i havent been this hyped about games ever. i cant wait until all these come out. and i just read the hands on with too human over at ign and that game looks pretty promising too. its gonna be a good year
It's hard to see if it will without the game or even a demo out yet. Does it have innovative features? Yes. Will it change the face of gaming? Not so sure. One thing is for sure, it has potential and I can't wait to try it out...
I do believe that due to the fact that it's going to have at least 40 hours of gameplay or main storyline; the game is too big and beautiful to miss out on.
I believe it will it will increase the immersion in video games huge worlds, a deep story that is supposed to get you emotionally involved, an amazing conversation system that lays out the story and multiple game paths, it has a ton going for it.

That's cause you know nothing about games. If you look at Mass Effect and don't think it's going to be an amzing game, then you're obviously retarded.
Maybe, maybe not its too hard to tell without decent previews out. Oblivion in my mind did (with its openendedness, ability to manipulate the environment, AI, etc)
I hope it does, I love new experiences. The games that stick in my mind the most are the ones that have redefined gaming over the years.Â

Not saying there will be hundreds or anything, but I'm pretty sure there will be downloadable planets 'n such. Plus Mass Effect is supposed to be a trilogy or sumthing that you'll be able to continue your character (If I remember correctly).
Anyways yeaa this game looks amazing. Whether it'll redefine gaming is up to see when it comes out, but it'll deff be an amazing game in itself. BTW those articles are opinion... What's redifining to someone might not be for someone else.
It will redefine gaming, just like how saints row was the best game ever. I'm not going to say anything, but bioshock and hellgate:london seem like the 2 games that will redefine gaming, rpg style.
