i love oblivion. its one of my favorite games. I know Ubi said it is the "last" elder scroll, but i hope they make more of the same type. (i logged 100 hours in the game....i need more! lol). I haven't tried mass effect, ill probably check it out later.

Both games are awesome, but I actually found Oblivion a little easier to get into.

I think Oblivion is MUCH better than Mass Effect, although Mass Effect is a great game. Hopefully Fallout 3 is better than Oblivion so Bethesda isn't taking a step backwards.

i shared my laughter of his post with you!

anyway, ME is a great game (some people hate it), Oblivion is OoooK i guess (some people love it). I just found Oblivion lacking. Guess i was spoiled by Morrowind.

--i'm retarded-- Fallout 3, as mentioned should prolly knock them both down.

Oblivion gave you more freedoms only thing that mass effect has over oblivion is the writing not saying oblivions were bad its just that mass effect is better.

oblivion rapes Mass effect, I thought ME was a huge letdown with way too much dialogue and not enough fighting

Oblivion is the better game. Though it was early in this generation so the graphics aren't great. Mass Effect had a lot of technical issues such as load times hidden as long elevator rides and pop in. The dialogue and story in Mass Effect was better, but it just wasn't as big a game. Both games are great though.

Oblivion vs Mass Effect? its not fair, Mass Effect vs Vanilla ice cream, thats better, i'll still pick the ice cream...

Oblivion is so much better than ME that its not even funny, i've played Oblivion for 270 hours(literally) with 2 characters, and im still not bored, it was my first 360 game back in july 2006.

I found Oblivion dull & boring & Mass Effect interesting & exciting. Just a matter of gaming preference here.

I personally Loved them both. Oblivion had just so much to do in the game, and the expansion "Shivering Isles" was alot of fun. Mass Effect wasn't near as big and had less to do, but the story was awesome. Hopefully Mass Effect 2 will fix all those annoying issues that the first game had and give the players a little more freedom to do what they please. However I am looking forward to Fallout 3, hopefully Bethesda caputures the look and feel of the original Fallout games with 3. I can't wait to see what the Fallout world looks like now. Will it be as expansive and loaded with things to do like Oblivion? Will it have a good story behind it? Will it do the Fallout name justice or will it ruin the series. Can't wait to find out.

yeah but oblivion is boring to me because thereis not really enough going on at once. i prefer playing in a universe with a sense of conflict.

and that conflict isnt as present as it is in oblivion. the only place you see the main conflict take place is during trips through daedric portals.

It really depends on what type of environment you like (space or medieval).

Personally I have always liked Oblivion because you can almost never get bored from the diversity of characters and guilds and quests.

I have never played Mass Effect, but hope to soon. It sort of seems like a Knights of the Old Republic, but more updated and a different story line.
