I have a question about the two games. I was told that they are very similar and have the same exact technical problems. Now, I hated DAO, but I love RPGs and want to ggive ME a shot. Are they really that similar? How do they differ?

I think both Mass Effects are more Story Driven 3rd Person Shooters than an RPG. Very fun games.

BTW, what did you hate about DAO? I'm about 10 hours into it.

The biggest difference is the combat. Mass Effect 2 has a more Gears of War style to it, while Mass Effect 1 has you run of the mill 3rd person shooting, and obviously you've played DA:O so you know what thats like. The way the story is told is similar, but the combat couldn't be more different. I would check out some videos.

I don't think they are the same, different settings, different combat, mass effect has a deeper story, but I love both games, so hard for me to say, I never had any technical problems with ME tho, I had a couple with DAO

For whatever reason I couldn't get into the story. I found that there was too much dialogue and it bored me. The combat was horrible also. I might give it another try later on, but for now I am looking for something that can hold my interest a little better. Hopefully Mass Effect will do that.

I've played DAO on a console and on a computer. Computer is the best way to experience it.

Mass Effect has better graphics, better textures and it is more action-driven.
