i finished mass effect a long time ago and dont quite remember but wasnt mass effect one of those games that once you finished it you could only start a new game with the same character or start from the last checkpoint(before finishing the game)?

if so then how can you transfer data from an unfinished game or a new campaign?

because once i finished mass effect i decided to keep playing with the same character but stoped during like the begining of the game, so the only save i got right now is the save from starting the game againg with the same character, so how will i be able to transfer my completed game?

think you should be alright since you have finished the game with that character before, also do you have any save from when you finsished the game or did you delete it when you started playing a new game with the same character??

if you deleted your original file just finsish the game again with your leveled up character

It will probably just take your character from where they are currently (current level and skills and what not) and transfer that into the new game. I know Dead Rising if you don't save but you get knocked out you start from the beginning with your level because it asks you to save. I'm sure it's going to be something like that.

I would really be pissed if after transferring over your character into Mass Effect 2, you were stripped of you leveled up abilities, in order to make it "fair or equal" for all the people who are starting ME 2 fresh, or whatever bs reasons they have. You know, like what they did in the Gamecube Metroid games how you lost everything you worked for in the previous games right at the start. :(

There'd be no fun in just having your custom character at level 50 with level 1 abilities. :?

it looks like your character level may not be transfering over to ME2. Scroll down to the last paragraph concerning the transfer of your character level. here's the link: http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/991/991756p1.html For me, I don't mind starting all over at level 1 again. I think it would be better to start off from level 1 once again. If you started at level 60, it would take a very long time to level up again. It would also handicap you from trying new character builds. What if there were new abilities added in ME2? You would have to wait that whole grind from 60-61 just use your one single exp point into a new ability. In contrast, If you start all over again, you can experiment more often with your character and try out the new abilities that may be available in ME2. Besides, I'd like to level up once again in ME2. I can see the valid argument for both sides when it comes to starting ME2 with a lvl 60 or lvl 1 character. For me, I'd like to start over again. The only thing in ME2 that I'm a little skeptical on is the regenerating health and no need use for medkits. This game is still a RPG! It's a shooter/RPG. In RPG games, you still have to heal yourself just like in the Final Fantasy games, Fallout 3, Oblivion, and Star Ocean. I've never played ME2 yet and I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but I'm unsure of what to think of when it comes to regenerating health. I suppose we'll just have to wait and see how this plays out. It may be a good move to make in ME2. We'll all have to wait and see.

The only thing that worries me is the last time I completed it I think I killed the council. Which I didn't want to do but I did it because I completed it 3 times and never decided to kill the council. 4th time around I did just to be curious although it may not be a bad choice, but I also think I "did" the alien girl not the human one, that I'm not too proud of :P

I was wondering this too. I have played through about 4 times now and I think my last play through I was the meanest, most selfish SOB I could think of. If this guy transfers over I'm gonna be pissed.
