Xbox 360 games need to stop relying on one person setting up a game and having random people join. It gives the host far too much power. For example, I just played a 20 minute game of Team Sharpshooter in Rainbow 6 Vegas and with 15 minutes gone in the match, the guy who was top on my team got booted and banned. It was then 2 on 3.

Host and another member of their team spawn camps and kills me a couple of times and we nearly tied. I managed to pull two kills from the spawn and brought back the lead... gets to 20 seconds left and he boots the other member of my team and me. It's rediculous that the guy can just kick people 'cos he can't take losing.

This isn't something specific to Rainbow either, that was just a very recent example. 360 games really need to start incorporating the matchmaking perfection that Bungie designed.

Anyway, opinions?

yeah halo 2s matchmaking was good...always get in a game, and then you're ready to roll.  if the host leaves it's given to someone else, no biggy.

This is happening 1 out of every 3 games I played these past two days. I know they aren't booting me 'cos I am cheating since I don't spawncamp (if I can help it), I don't do anything that isn't considered unsporting and I have a good connection so it isn't that I'm just lagging out.

People just keep booting or else quitting if the other team is winning (I usually end up with 2 or three friends in the opposing team) and it's really getting on my nerves.

I hope they are planning on re-evaluating the whole matchmaking system on live and maybe are working on making it standardised. I know that's what everyone wants and there are no down points in doing that so why not?

Yep. It's a problem, but a problem that we have to deal with. I usually don't get booted but I have been booted some times. It gets annoying but I just move into another server or start one of my own.

Now you know why I sold rainbow 6 vegas a long time ago, I couldnt stand that crap. I don't have those issues with COD3/Lost Planet/GRAW2.

its funny i brought this up a couple weeks ago, but i agree rainbow six and gears of war need matchmaking, its so annoying sitting in a lobby waiting for people to come to get a full game, then know who the host is and not pick the person that is best suited for host.  this issue in online games is the most annoying to me now.

In ranked games, the host should have no power except the advantage of no lag, like in GeOW.

rainbow six is the same, You cant boot people outside of the lobby anymore. Idk why people complain about getting booted in rainbow six. If you dont want to get booted, play ranked. Don;t complain about it when you dont have to.

Most people in Rainbow play player matches because it is easier to get a game together with people from your friends list. In my situation, one of the three people that I play with will find a game and send everyone else invites before it begins. Also, after a player match ends, you can switch maps, teams, gametype, all without having to invite everyone back into the same game again. It's just a much easier way of playing.
My only problem with it is that someone shouldn't be able to just selectively boot people. Maybe if there was a voting system for booting people. Say, someone gets 3 people voting on them during a game a la BF2?

more people play ranked. If you want to play with your friends just have a private chat with them and just match the hosts name so you can find each other. Its harder but you wont get booted.

you should'nt be able to just boot someone if they are kicking your ass. it should be a voting system for a legit reason like glitching or being reallying annoying and most importantly using a gay weapon like nadetags or the hammer of dawn ALL THE TIME. because nades are made to use throw not tagging. well i rambled on too much anyway a voting system would be the best.
