The first of his games I tried was GRAW1, and I hardly paid attention to the storyline.

Some retard posted about a month ago claiming "Tom McClancey/Tom McClaney" was a racist for featuring ethnic terrorists in his games, including hispanics in GRAW/GRAW 2/R6V. He is apparently still a legend on these boards today, as every week or so I see a "Tom McClancey: racest extrordinare" joke thread.
McClancy? Umm... Ok first off all it's Tom Clancy. Secondly anyone who honestly thinks that Tom Clancy really has had a hand in these titles is rediculous.
Tom CLANCY, not McClancy. Who really cares who they're killing in video games? Tom Clancy games try to be modern and somewhat believable, and right now, Mexico is on the minds of many Americans.

Let's see, just in the Ghost Recon universe, there were Russians and Georgians(the country by russian, not the southern US state), the North Africans, then Cubans, and then Panamanians, then Koreans. And then GRAW took place in Mexico, fightingmexican rebels, and then GRAW2 took place the NEXT DAY, fighitng more rebels, and then Eastern Bloc mercenaries, or US civilian contractors?
Look you guys dont you get it, I posted a thread saying McClancy must die as people find his games racist. I never said nowt about Tom Clancy whoever he is.

Well said! I think it's hilarious that people don't even say his name right and yet think they have a valid opinion about him/this issue. Video games are just that, VIDEO GAMES!!! They are what we like to call, NOT REAL!!! I love that in one of the Mexican states they are taking GRAW 2 off the shelves! It's the dumbest thing ever! Games have had made up story lines forever and nobody has cared much until recently. What about movies and books and tv shows that do the same thing? Nobody cries about that! What a jacked up world we live in when games are taken this seriously!Â
Tom Clancy is an author and writes books usually about modern day war-fare and counter terrorist stories. He has nothing to do with these games, in fact the games are simply based off stories he wrote.
