I finished Mass Effect 2 just a little over a week after it came out, i got all the upgrades for every weapon and my ship, not to mention all the Shepard upgrades.. so i go to start my second playthrough and I'm now 2 hours in and it sucks! All the upgrades i bought are gone, I don't want to mine dozens and dozens of planets all over again to get back my upgrades! I didn't really like how my first playthrough ended so i was hoping i could change that with the second.. First of all the lack of armor and weapons was bad enough the first playthrough, but now none of my upgrades carried over! what the hell!

Is there a point where you get all your upgrades back or some better weapons the 2nd time around? or am i stuck with the same 10 or so boring weapons (not including the heavy weapons of which only 2 are really useful)

50k isn't much... most of the upgrades past the half way point cost 15-25 of something...

Maybe i don't want to put another 65 hours into my second playthrough, i was hoping to just enjoy the story and gameplay and not worry about the GD resources and credits!

Being mad that you don't have all the resources is like if you were to finish a jar of peanutbutter then put the empty jar back and then get nerd rage over the jar not being filled up again. The game isnt goingt o give you everything. I cant beleive some people can be so lazy.

Scanning = boring There are only so many times you can scan planets before it becomes tedious.

I experimented a lot, i talked to everybody.. i mined almost every planet looking for anomalies, I put alot of work into my 1st playthrough hoping it would carry over to my 2nd ( i was lvl 28 at the end of my first playthrough) just like Mass Effect 1.. You don't get any real reward for playing through a second time

Well all my stuff from my first playthrough on Mass Effect 1 caried over to my second playthrough, i thought ME2 would be the same.. hell even all my renegade and paragon points disappeared!, its not lazy to expect a proper New Game+ from an RPG! the point is i already got everythign in my first playthough and its not like i'm some kid who has an infinite amount of time to play games... i'm lucky if i get 10 hours in during the week... I don't want to waste my time grinding all over again...

its not like you have to keep scanning for hours and hours and hours he makes it sound like its killing him. Yeah the scanning isnt really that great and it can be tedious but honestly it only takes a few minutes to do it on planets marked rich resources.

all your renegade points dont carry over simply for that fact taht you were out back together, it gives players the choice to either continue being renegade or continue being paragon. Depending on the prigin of your character you actually gain more paragon or more renegade dependin on your choices. people have to complain complain about everything. Honestly i liked that they reset my paragon points, i got to play as renegade.

So it doesn't matter if you have full paragon or renegade points, you can still play the other side.. they reset them back to zero though.. when i carried my char over from ME1 i had over 100 on each.... now alot of conversation options are gonna be locked won't they....

I had XBL for a while.. didn't seem worth the money.. and ME 1 was amazing on the second playthrough, you get the spectre gear and get to keep everything from the first playthrough.. and you don't have an XBL tag either..

yeah i traded mine in after the first playthrough. I figured since after seeing every planet , getting everything, ME1 dlc sucking and you can get 900+ achievement points on the first play through. I felt there was no point

I was actually going to make a thread asking which game should I get first...Splinter Cell or Mass Effect 2! lol...I want both, but because of time and priority's I can only get one of those games for now(thanks Afro) I do agree that if you put in the time to get the weapons/rewards...they should carry over.It has nothing to do with being lazy because some people have other obligations that won't allow them to pour repeated hours into a video game.

not at all actually, i have never had a locked conversation option, as long as you pick a side from the beginning, you should be alright

Let this topic sink, nothing to see here. That's so not true. I mined every planet, did every side mission and upgrade and as i said, bam! 39 hours.

You don't have to worry about credits. You'll get way more than you can spend. You start with an insane amount and if you open crates and hack stuff you wont' run out. The same kinda goes for resources. You can go a long time before needing to mine a planet and if you just mine one rich planet for every system that you visit, you'll be fine.

Wtf, checking for planet anomalies takes less than 10 minutes, as soon as you click into it, you woul dget the sound effect, there's no need to mine it what's so ever. Unless you are going for insanity achievement, just lower the difficulty to casual when you want to upgrade stuff, it's way cheaper.
