The parachuting aspect is cool, but once that's over with it is just a typical shooter, but it was still fun to play. I'm glad it's running at a nice smooth framerate, but you are right, the shooting needs some work. I had my Garand pointing right at a guys midsection, he was using a stationary weapon. so he wasn't moving and I shot him 3 times in the chest and he didn't flinch and he subsequently killed me.
This game is a rent for me as I will only play the single player campaign, but it's like a 7.5 as it is, fix the "shooting problem" and it's an 8. Better than I thought anyway.
man, this felt like a call of duty rip-off. If you had a choice between Call Of Duty 4 or MOH, then you will be dumb enough to even put Medal Of Honor as choiceFranchise2k6You'd be dumb to put MoH and CoD4 against each other. WW2 and a fictional war. Completely different
The unreal 3 engine looked superb. Can't wait to see the levels that are in daylight!
Also, I thought the aiming system while looking through the iron sights did wonders for the game play. The realism inherent in having that much control over your aiming was awesome! Just reached a street corner? Poke your head out a little, get a peek at where the enemy is and from there, you could through a grenade around the bend, flank, or lean out from cover and fire.
The system works, it adds to the realism; which is after all the goal of any WWII shooter, right? They're sims to a degree. And as such, the parachuting and freedom to land where you wish is spectacular!
Well, that said the ONLY COMPLAINT I have is in the presentation of the smoke isuued from impacting gun fire, and grenade detonations. It looks TERRIBLE! Seriously, that needs to be addressed before shippment....
Aside from that, I think it's a solid step up in the standards of WWII Sims, it's definitely NOT "like any other shooter".

this game just blows if i could play any of the 5 million world war 2 games out there i would be playing COD2 or COD3falconzfan0101
Call of Duty 2 was a great game. COD 3 was garbage.
i'll probably give it a miss - as much as I love WWII shooters, they have been done to death and I have played too many. COD 3 being the last one.
I think Brothers in arms, hells highway is the only WWII shooter worth a look at
I really enjoyed this game as it gave you the freedom to do whatever you wanted in battle which many WW2 shooters don't. Every battle can be played over with a new exp depending on were you land or what objective you do first. I loved how it finally did something new with the weapons by adding upgrades for every weapon in the game even the cheap pistol. I have played a lot of WW2 shooter but I really enjoyed this one because it takes everything good from them and then adds on and improves it. I played the PC version didn't see anything wrong with the aiming. I love how the guns feel more real in your hands and don't hit 100% of the time which would really happen in real life. I also like how the NPCs go down in a max of 2 shoots were in other games they take bullets like it's nothing but a paper cut going down in 5 shots.
dying actually wasnta punishment to me i got to go parachute in another area and choose a new strategy .i think this game was a right step for medal of honor but i do think WWII is getting a little old Imo they should consider going modern like call of duty i mean theres still some great wwii franchises like brothers in arms
good graphics and the parashute part is really fun, but the guns are terrible, i shot a guy in the face and he didnt even react. even if you aim right at them it misses them for some reason. also not being able to go prone sucks:(Film-Guy
Yeah the weapons suck, you can be bearing down on a guy and unloading tons of ammo into them and they don't even react, its like you're shooting blanks sometimes
It was a good demo and the game is a must-buy for me. As far as the graphics and such go, I thought it was very good. All in all I think it will provide a good single player and an even better multiplayer. Hopefully the multiplayer is as good as expected.
The one thing I didn't understand were the Skill Drops. I successfully landed on all five skill drops and it even told me that I did but I didn't notice any change. What happens when you hit all five drops? What do you earn?
i think the cover system is really creative. people complain about the rainbow six system because in real life u cant see urself in third person. i think this was really the only way to do cover and stay in firstperson. being able to lean left and right, peak up over cover, and squat down even farther from crouch (i guess thats kind of prone) is great. i'd pick rainbow's system over it but its at least better than average
Was awesome, but the parachute controls suck ass, I didn't hit the green smoke a single time, kept landing on roofs.degobah77
Lol I landed on a roof too. My complaints are the same others have: Bad hit detection, bad AI. The controls were also not very good. I'm a Call Of Duty guy, but since COD 4 is going modern(even though I'm still gonna buy it), I need like a good WWII shooter to fill the void. I don't know, if the multiplayer gets good reviews I might buy it.
It was different, the controls are a little hard getting used to but after you do it gets fun. Than you have the guns and you can get the unlock for them. I already found my fav unlock and that is the knife. It is so cool running killing poeple with itPete5506
