Mercs 2 Bug warning

So, imagine my suprise that after purchasing Mercs 2 and playing it for about two days that despite rebooting my xbox about 100 times I am no longer able to play my previously saved games.

Is it a problem with my Xbox? No. PLayed Halo 3 and Cod4 just fine. I was able to access my saved games from my media devices just fine.

Also, if my xbox plays these other games just fine, then WTF what kind of jaloppy of a game did EA and pandemic foist on me?

No response from their "legendary" customer service department.

Ill update this as developments materialise.

I've been playing Mercs 2 since Sunday, & although your not the first I've seen complaining about bugs in the game myself I haven't experienced any problems thus far & I wonder how that is so???

Data corruption can happen in so many ways. One good example is when you turn off your console while it's still saving or something accidently hit it really hard it in the middle of saving/loading process. It can also happen just becaause the data itself is bad. Data corruption is unavoidable. All you can do is make sure your game disc are clean and your system itself is well taken cared off. Like away from extreme temperature and water/moisture. Don't download any data you don't know.

I wish I had an answer for you. I have tried to eliminate as many variables as possible to see if it really was the game, and near as I can tell, beyond Toriko's hypothesis, the game is poo-ing on me.

Always wait till I get to the main menu, the xbox is horizontal, the disc is clean (no scratches, etc), and yet I am suffering from "Data Damage" (Or as I am calling it Mercen-HERPES).

Consider yourself lucky. However, I think you'll encounter one or two down the line. Hopefuly it's nothing that will prevent you from enjoying your game.

Don't be so hard on yourself man. It's not your fault. That's just how it is with any machines. There are always system errors and glitches. I wish I have the answer for you but I don't. You know that they say, "Sh*t happens."

I haven't had any problems with Mercs 2, but I've played a lot of 4 EA games within the past 2 months. Two of those which are Mercs 2 & Madden 09 I had not problems with the other 2 Nascar 09 & Nfl Head Coach 09 I have mass freezing constantly., Also in Nascar 09 I had save corruption 5 times a little ways into the game & ended up having to sell the game because I just couldn't get but so far in the game. So i completely believe you when you say your having these problems.

True enough. Oh well. At least I dont have the RROD. That is almost as bad as finding out the fat girl you hooked up with at the frat party is pregnant.cbathe

All I gotta say is thank heavens for the Best buy warranty program. Im upgrading to the elite on the fifth assuming they have one in stock.

My dad's 360 RROD'd and we got a new one no questions asked.

So it would seem that the data was corrupted because when I went into the "manage game saves" menu there was a parallel save (40% and not my 55%) that had used the autosave function that allowed me to save MOST of my progress.
