Mercs 2 surprised me at E3... I never looked at it as a good game, but I saw the gameplay footage and it looks solid. But seriously dude? Gears Of War 2! Mercs 2 is out of Gow2's league! Gow2 will get a 9.7-10 rating and Mercs 2 will get an 8.5-9.
Tough one but i would go with gears due to more then likely superior online. Mercenaries will be one of those games that after you get the nesscesary games you get it like after your Birthday and stuff.
I loved the original Mercenaries, but I was never interested enough in GoW to try it, so Mercs 2 is definitely more anticipated for me. I will be getting both though, because everyone on my friend's list is sure to move on to it.
