Instead of giving people what they actually want (MGS4), Konami decided to take the idiot route and put out a game that few people will even give a crap about. Nice move, Konami :roll:
I'm sick of people saying it's not a stealth game because it is. Read.
"We're creating Rising with Kojima Productions' up-and-coming young bloods, because the game is for the young bloods as well, a new experience." Not completely new, however - Kojima promised that Rising would be "a stealth espionage action game, of course".
I've never played a MGS game and I want to play MGS4 before I even think about this game.

dont do that, i aslo have never played a mgs game and i just played mgs4, i hated that game, it's just a movie and every once in a while you move ur character, seriously i just hated it, no flaming please :D
i would radther have a normal MGS gme but i guess its better than nothing though i just hope its good. Im getting a ps3 slim anyway so ill have my MGS fix soon.
They're never really rated M for much. The ESRB is just over-reacting. Nothing new there.
Well I'd say the M-rating given to MGS2 was appropriate seeing as you see Raiden naked, which I and a lot of other people I'm sure could've done without.

I'd say play it, but play it from the beginning. MGS4 wraps everything up from the Metal Gear and Metal Gear Solid days. So it won't make any sense or will you have any sense of attachment to the characters. If there was a game that I choose as my favorite, the closest to perfect, I'd say MGS4 is it. And yes, the games are all half movies. But, that's what I love about the series. It's not afraid to add story to a game, and make it amazing.
Yep but to be honest, I think that the upcoming MGS Peace Walker for Sony PSP looks better than MGS4 and MGS:Rising put together. Mainly because of Co-op mode.

It's not afraid to add story to a game, and make it amazing. well you can add story to a game but not 15 hours of cut scenes (yes, there are 15 hours of cut scenes in mgs4, i researched it) but yeah you are right, the series is not for me
