Microsoft has an automated account removal proceedure o_O

Taken from the microsoft forums is a discussion that i had with someone regarding something weird that happend to my account, I eventualy found out what happend and well, it goes like this.

Disconnected from xbox live without an error messege.

When I attempt to connect to xbox live, I recieve a messege saying that my account has been suspended due to a problem regarding payment and that I should modify my account to fix the problem. I try to connect and modify my account information, but i'm sent back to the main dashboard screen when it tries to connect.

I thought this would be a problem with one of the updates that i recieved, but it still persists about 4 months after I first came across it.... Some of the other accounts that are on the console work fine, it's just mine which doesnt seem to be fixable. Any help with this would be apreceated.

Response: First, try going to https://billing.microsoft.com to review your billing details and make any necessary updates to resolve your suspension. Second, contact Xbox Support on the phone and choose the option to speak to a Billing agent.

One day later: this is so sad -_-, basicaly during my accounts gold membership, my xbox recieved the red ring of death and i had to send it in for repairs. during that time i attempted to contact microsoft to cancel my gold membership and failed in doing so. I figured i would just stop putting funds in my card so that nothing would be charged. In doing so microsoft accumilated charges that i was notified of through email and after not recieving the money my account was deleted. Soooo, i have to create a new account. Heh, problem solved..

yeah, automated deletion, that's freakin creepy @_@

yeah, I remember another person talking about this a couple weeks ago, he was in the hosptial for an extended period and by the time he got out he lost everything (included like $300 worth of XBLA games), As far as I know it wasn't able to be fixed because MS says the accounts are "gone forever" after a certain period.

It really sucks, if an MMO can keep your account on file for life, MS should be able to keep your subscription renewable for life, how much server space does that really take up?

Anyways on this topic, I have had many issues with M$. I have went through 8 360's and the last one I sent in, they wouldnt take because they said I had been banned from Xbox live. It made sence because my xbox live wasnt workin at that time. So a support rep helped me and we finally got live working. After almost 4.5 hours on the phone with them clowns, they admitted that it was thier mistake and it must have been a glitch in their system.

So you stopped giving them money without stopping the bills. That was dumb. What did you expect them to do, just let you keep playing on live without giving them any money? Why do you think they send you one month when they send your system back? That is to make up for the month you are not able to play on live.

I expected either

A: my account to be returned to silver status

or

B: My account to be suspended untill I updated my billing info when i was able to.

Edit- i also expected them to stop charging me when their computers found out that no money was available to take. I was using a debit card so, meh, *shrug*.

Yeah that's kind of what's going on with my "TheActionFigure" account. Back in February I bought a 3 month prepaid card unaware that they would automatically charge my debit. I redeemed my prepaid on Feb 16, not knowing they'd already tried to charge my empty debit account. Last month when I tried to sign in I got that same message. The first time I called them some middle-eastern broad hung up on me. I was so mad that I nearly just sold my xbox. Take in mind that back in January I got the RRoD, and sent in my original system that had over 40 XBLA games attached to it. So basically it felt like M$ was giving it to me up the butt.

I had my girl call the second time (in fear that they would piss me off so bad that I would chunk my 360 aginst the wall), and they said that they'll reactivate my account if I "settled" the money that they tried to charge. Despite the fact that my prepaid card was not even expired yet. M$ is the biggest bunch of thieves that I've ever seen.

lol alright, I'll explain the whole story. So im heading off to college next year so my bro decided to buy my friends 360 for $60 because i am taking mine with me. It had hardware failure and it would cost $110 to get it repaired. He also gave us a wireless controller, all the wires, and a memory card so I thought it would be a good deal.

So we sent back my bro's 360, and within 1 week we got it back. I was very pleased with this but realized the power button only worked 50% of the time and the disc drive was making wierd noises. At this point, I realized my 360 was scratching discs as well. So i decided to call M$ and we delt with my bro's console first, we made up a repair order and away we go. Then we got onto the topic of my 360 and scratching discs. She looked into it and said the warranty was void and I would have to pay $110 to repair it. I was very angry because I have already went through 7 Xbox's not including my bro's broken 360 they just "repaired". So we got into a little argument, about all the money I have spent on thier sh*t, all the scratched games, all the broken 360's..so on. While I was on hold I tried to get onto live and for some reason I couldn't get on. I rebooted my modem and all that and it still didn't work.

She then says "alright well i will speak with my supervisor and we will try to figure something out. After being on hold for almost 30 minutes she comes back and tells me I have either been banned from xbox live or I have somehow broken the seal on my Xbox. I absolutely lost it because first of all I was on Live the night before playing NHL with 4 of my friends, none of which would report me. Secondly, how would they know my seal was broken? I had no problems last time i sent it in and I have never even attemped to open my Xbox. So i told her this and she said i must have gotten banned from live and that would explain why my live wasnt connecting. She then sends me to Xbox live support in order to find out if I had been banned from live. After almost 2 hours, the support guy confirms I hadn't been banned from live and we got my live working. I then get sent back to the lady I had the earlier disagreement with and she apologizes and tells me it must have been a glitch in the system. I asked for re-enbursment and she says she could give me a game. she lists them off and I have them all. She also refuses to give me anything else. I pretty much just said fine and hung up. Im not usually like that and have a lot of respect for thos people but they took it too far in my opinion. so yeah thats my story.
