My friends just broke and he thought he was going to have to pay $150. I can't wait to tell him when I talk to him tomorrow!

This is a big thing that Microsoft did. This could change everthing. Now I believe the 360 will beat the PS3. It really comes down to how well Bungie finshes Halo 3. That will be the last nail in Sony's coffin.

Just to clarify, it only pertains to the "3 rings of death" error. If it breaks for some other reason, it doesn't apply. But the 3 rings of death is the most common issue by far, so most people are safe.

Competition is what makes a company care.

MS isn't exactly getting much competition ...stateside anyway. And I dont see this giving them much of a sales spike in Japan. They could of held out longer for this and see how PS3 does after this year, so you have to applaud MS.Way to clear the air before E3.

Now I feel a lot better about getting my 360 off Ebay with no warranty, although it runs like a dream right now.Just hope its never been opened by the former owner.

Dudes - I really have a warm fuzzy feeling in my heart for Microsofttoday.......

Funny thing is I even feel bad for them now in a big way cause a company willing to take a 1 Billion dollar charge against them does not deserve for this to happen to them.........Thanks Microsoft. Thanks Peter Moore. For the first time ever I feel like a company might actually give a dam about the consumer experience.

Good, I just hope that people don't take this the wrong way or anything....Like some Doughbag says "Well if Microsoft is extenting their warrenty then maybe their Xbox 360s are badly made....(Hopfully, this will encourage people to buy 360s......) I'm happy, I'm covered!!!

THANK GOD!!! I'm finaly going to be able to play my 360 again. im just woundering though, are they giving referbs, or sending back YOUR console? i have some a skin on mine thats very very hard to come off. also, this is the first time i've had to return the system. do i send in the power cords, and everything, or just the console itself? i am soooooooooooooo freakin happy
