How well does this work? How long does the battery keep a charge? Is it worth the $30?

Well if you are talking about the plug and play kit. or whatever. i dont know.

If you are talking about the docking system that charges 2 batteries at a time. I have it and i love it. you can get like 25 hours of battery life. takes about 30mins-1 hour and 30 mins to chage fully. It tells you when its done. So i think it is a very good charger.

I have the docking station too - works good - I always have a battery on it, so if the one i'm using gets low, I can switch out quickly. Definitly worth the $$$ IMO.I have to change my battery maybe once a week, so lasts for a while.

Just to cover the other base....

The plug and play kit is also a good option. The advantage over the docking station is that you can still play your 360 while your battery recharges. I think it goes for cheaper than $30 also. Battery life is also 25 hours-ish and it takes an hour at the absolute most to charge.

I use Rayovac Hybrid rechargeable batteries in my controllers, sort of the bastard version of the proper docking station.

I use the play and charge kit (2 between 4 controllers) so I never have to stop playing. Some people don't like having to use a cable with their wireless controller, but its soo long that I'm never out of reach of my console. Also when you finish and turn the console off, it will continue to charge the controllers until they are fully charged, then switch them off.
