Microsoft Refusing to Take $10 Million Worth of Defective 360s from EB Oz

Over the weekend, a Kotaku AU reader sent through a chat log containing an enlightening conversation with "an associate of mine who holds a high position within the EB organisation". According to the log, Microsoft is refusing to take responsibility for its defective consoles, leaving it up to the games retailer to make the best of a crappy situation.

Microsoft is in the write, EB buys the consoles 'as is' and there is no reason they can't sell them (at least that I know of, I assume the issue here is the RROD).

EB is not responsible for the RROD, and as such, they neither have to refund the problem, nor can they send the xbox's back.

Why would EB (I'm assuming bought, or traded in) take faulty consoles? Or did people return them to EB under warranty? If that's the case - why would people buy anything from EB in the first place.

Good EBgames deserves it, with thier shady practices.

Thatd be interesting. But i dont know how much i trust a guy that cant spell organization. Not to mention kotaku has been alittle unreliable in the past.DZBricktop

He didn't spell it incorrectly it can be spelt either way the commonwealth countries mostly use the British spelling using the S while the Americans use the Z.

This is why I would never buy a used Xbox 360 from anywhere. They are unreliable and who knows what you're getting. Just spend the extra $50 or whatever and buy a new one.

I know some companies have quit offering 360 extended warranties. I would think if Gamestop was smart, they'd stop buying used 360s.
