No, it signals the death of core gaming on the next xbox.
Some people like it.........What a good game to you may be a bad game to another. It's all subjective to the person. Why do you people continue to buy the good game killing piece of equipment that is Kinect? You do realize that by purchasing that piece of crap you are encouraging MS to spend more time and money on it for the next genreation xbox.

I just wish that I knew about kinect when I bought an xbox 6 years ago. If I knew that they'd pretty much stop making exclusive hardcore games simply to focus on a gimmicky piece of hardware with gimmicky games, I would have bought a PS3. Sure, they have Move, but they don't seem to abandon the vast majority of their install base to focus on it.
For a 5 year old system this is great news. Looks like the deals being offered and the price drops are finally convining many holiday shoppers to take the plunge and get the console.
This holiday season is also jam-packed with hot games to play on the 360: Skyrim, AC: Revelations, COD:MW3, Battlefield 3, Gears of War 3, Batman: Arkham City, and many others.
Recent media stories about problems with contantly having to upgrade PC's to play new games, and the very well publicized Sony Network hacking event may also be steering consumers to the XBox.
Game Informer magazine had an article in the latest issue where they are hearing the 'XBox Next', the next generation version of the console, isn't expected to debut until 2014, which gives them a window of time - about one more year - to invest heavily in selling the current version. By 2013 it will be hard to sell the 360 since the new console will be only a year away.
