MS confirms to Pro-G that accounts will be frozen even if you avoid online play until after official street date.

More information can be found on this page : http://www.pro-g.co.uk/news/19-09-2007-6492.html

Not really. They payed the full price and the store clerks are the ones to blame, not the players buying it.

It sounds like only microsoft employees would be the ones getting banned. While other gamers are free from the banning. I hate microsoft because three of my 360's died. So I'm glad to hear some of their employees are getting banned...

*However, Pro-G has since been contacted by another MS rep, who said the ban only applies to Microsoft employees.

I wish they'd apply the ban to everyone. Heck, they should IP ban them forever! It's not fair to the rest of us who have to wait until the official date for the game.

Both the retailerwho illegally sold it and the buyer are at fault. I say ban their accounts and send failure codes to their console.

MS has changed their tune. Re-check the original posting link at Pro-G and find: "MS confirms to Pro-G that consumers will not be banned for playing Halo 3 before official release"

That's stupid! What if someone doesn't know the exact release date and buys it a day early. He will get banned for not knowing that the store wasn't supposed to release the game :S:S

I know the person buying probably begged for hours or something like that to get it, but I think its the retailers fault. They could just say no. What are they gonna do, Kill em? Oh... maybe...

No, it IS your fault. You know when the game comes out, we all do. If you choose to buy the game early, then YOU need to be the one to accept responsibility for your actions, not some clerk at some store or some guy making money off of you on the street. If you get caught playing a game early, then you should have your account suspended. Hell, Microsoft should send the RRoD signal to your XBOX and kill it. And then they shouldn't repair it for you. That'll teach ya'.
