Microsoft, what have you done?!?!

After being without internet for about 3 weeks, I finally connect to xlb and find a new dashboard... and it takes me about 60 seconds to decide that I absolutely hate it. There are ads EVERYWHERE. Not just ads, but animated ads. EVERYWHERE. The games section is the most important, so naturally they moved it past social, tv, and video to the middle tab. Fortunately, the home tab has a quick launch menu with 10 apparently random games on it. They removed the new content section of the marketplace and made a seperate one for each category so I have to look all over the place to see if there's anything new that's worth a ****. At least they went back to the green tiles instead of the hideous white ones that wear out my old tv. Microsoft needs to fire everyone that works on these dashboard updates.

I have seen one subway ad in the bottom right corner of the main section. One **** ad. Seriously, I can't even find any other ads. Where are these **** ads everyone is complaining about?

@speedfreak: There are ads on the bottom right corner of 5/8 tabs. Clearly you didn't look very hard. Also I think the big tile on the home, video, games and music tabs qualify as well, as does the entire tv tab if you're not already paying extra for the service.

@HilbillyRokstar: They have to add tiles or tabs to include new features, not completely change the dashboard and saturate it with ads.

Sure, the old dashboard had a lot of ads, but I found sanctuary from them on the My Xbox tab. Now they're everywhere.

This. A few things got switched around. There are now very subtle and unobtrusive ads. It's not perfect but it's more than functional.

are you kidding me? I don't come on the forums for a while, and I return to find people are STILL complaining about this??? It came out a while ago, I figured this was an old topic...nooope. can we all just shut up, play around with the dashboard fora while and stfu about it? yeah, it's cluttered and harder to navigate sometimes, but its not HORRIBLE and something to complain about for weeks.

Has the XMB ever changed though? I've had PS3 for a couple years now, and I don't think I've ever once got an update for it that made any visual difference at all. As far as my PSP, I haven't turned it on in like 8 months. Sony's XMB works well and is simple, but at least M$ switches it up every couple years to keep it feeling fresh. Best you can do on the Sony consoles is change your theme *yawn*.

A console that has a lifespan of 7-8 years is going to die anyway. I don't really see how your statement is relevant. It's not like everyone would just stop playing the 360 if it didn't get a dashboard update every few years.

I like the new dashboard.I find it refreshing and there is alot more things to this dashboard then the others have over the years.Happy Holiday's Everyone.

I personaly like it. Than again i get on my xbox to play games, not admire the dashboard. I understand the feelings though. I am an avid Youtuber and when the recent changed were forced on the big users i was pissed. I didnt want to have to change, i was used to the original ways. Everything was so difficult. I got used to it and dont realy care now. You fan girls and boys will get used to it. I mean come on. Look on the bright side, at least you dont live in north korea

I am notthrilled with the new look of the Dashboard. But it is just the look of it. I usually don't care about such things it is just not agreeable to me. Eventually Microsoft will change it again. I just don't like the look of this new updated dashboard.

I don't really care about the "looks" of any themed dashboard, I only care about the functionality of it. Personally, I think that the new update makes things more complicated than it needs to be. Netflix takes longer to load and I'm guessing other apps like Zune and stuff do too. I haven't been messing with it all that much since I've only been playing Skyrim lately but from what I've seen, I think it's harder to get the stuff you want.

I love the new dashboard. I dont even play games on xbox anymore. I just view all the advertisements. I cant get enough of the chuck norris WoW ads. keep the ads coming Microsoft. my Live subscription is well worth the price of the ads

I didn't like it at first, but it's fine now. Now that I am used to it, I sort of like it better. I guess it's a bit more organized than the last version.
