It's a mixed bag. I remember back in the day when you had to phone them up to cancel XBL subscriptions, they were a right pain in the ass. Last time I phoned they seemed okay though.

My experience with them has been great.. they even sent me out a free power brick cos mine was making some godawful noises. didnt have to send my old one in either. Ive had a much worse time with Sony's customer service though. They seemed incapable of helping me at all.

Most times it just seems to depend on the Rep that answers your call. I've only had to call MS twice and the service rep was fine, it was the hold time I hated. Sony is by far the worst I've ever had to deal with, Nintendo has always been the best.

You know what's worse? Talking to two different women on the Sony customer service that have ZERRRROOOO idea what they're talking about, then demanding to talk to someone else, then begin hung up on. Then calling back and talked to a guy that helped me with my HDMI audio in 5 seconds, and saving me 25 dollars. Where the women had no clue, and talked to each of them for over an hour a piece.

Yeah when they have no clue your better off just hanging up, calling back and waiting. I'd rather be on hold for ages to talk to someone that can help than spend that time arguing with someone who refuses to do their job and help you.

Well the massive amount of detail you put in your post along with checking it for errors sure does it make it hard to go against your claim, you know what though? I'm going to say that I don't agree with you.

Regardless, this isn't the place to air your grievances against Microsoft.

Years ago when my Xbox red ringed had no prpem reaching them and getting a replacement. So it must mean it depends on the rep plus it depends on what day and time you are calling. So my opinion is you are not "write"

Had 2 different experiences with them- years ago with RROD - fine and dandy, quick and painless. Few months ago when had a problem with the update and such. Got the response that is read off a card with fake human interaction. The person said they would move up the problem up to the supervisors that could fix the problem easier. They said would get in contact with me ASAP... months later - nothing. Even when send email with the issue number - get back automated response with no help.

I never had a problem with them. Just last week I asked about email issues I've been having for about a year now. decided to call and they resolved it really easily. They sent me a number to put into the password to help reset it and there. I was done. Pretty good service. Then again you guys are probably right depends on the rep. and OP yes you are lucky to have only waited 30 minutes,

I've only dealt with Microsoft xbox customer service 2 times before, once to cancel my Live account...

And the other time was last year when some punk stole my xbox account and spent all my points on some FIFA online tradeable purchase items. They did refund my lost points, but it took them about 1 month to do, and I wasnt given any bonus points for my time wasted talking to them... so I can't really praise them or bash them... im just indifferent with it all.

I can blame EA for this partly, for having this FIFA thing that people could buy players with real life cash and somehow trade them to other accounts... if it wasnt for this, stealing my account would have been no benefit to the criminal that did it.
