Okay, here's the deal.

My 360 gets the red lights and I call micro up. The lady I get can hardly speak a word of English. The only words she can speak are the words Microsoft taught her. I couldn't understand a word she said and just left with my questions. I figured I'd be getting a box since all of my other friends got a prepaid box. I wait about a week and call back. I luckily get an American who tells me my box got shipped on the 21st. I called on the 28th and I'm supposed to get it in 3-4 days aren't I? I give it another week hoping it will come. I call back yesterday and this dude tells me I was never supposed to get a box in the first place.(wtf?) On top of that, he tells me if he doesn't see my 360 in ten days I lose all of my money since they've been waiting so long for it. While the whole time they were waiting I was waiting for my box as well.

So basically my question is this.

What reasoning do they use that allows them to decide whether or not to ship a box? My friend down the street got a prepaid box. My friend across town got a prepaid box. Why not me? I have to pay an extra 20 to ship my box to micro due to their poor craftsmanship which I had already paid 140 on. Screw you Microsoft.

P.S. - No wonder Bill Gates is the richest man in the world.

I got a box so I don't see why you didn't, is your warrenty over?

Funny how I just received a box from Microsoft last Wednesday, and sent my Xbox 360 to them after they told me over the phone last week that they would send me a box..

Funny how I just received a box from Microsoft last Wednesday, and sent my Xbox 360 to them, if they changed that policy.

When my 360 broke in November they told me this.

So I paid for shipping.

Maybe they changed the policy back?

I just had the same problem but i though MS where very helpful and did all they could (other than making a faulty machine in the first place) I was quite pleased but i guess it shouldn't really be about luck of the draw.

Hey guys. I'm just at the beginning of all this. Hope mine doesn't take that long. Anyway, I was told that they send you a prepaid box only if your 360 breaks within the 3 month warranty period. After that, shipping comes out of your own pocket. But they pay to fix it and send it back so it could be worse.

you only have to pay if you want your box to be picked up by UPS. if you take it to a UPS store and drop it off there or at any UPS location then it is paid for. i just sent mine outd yesturday as of fact. missing it like crazy already. this works though while that max guy is trying to help you if u scream AMERICA in the phone really loud you will get Texas. no joke. it happened to me twice. God bless anger and losey voice mechanics! stuff knew i was pissed from the get go so i recieved Texas. so yeah its free mang. and i had to wait for a 2nd box because UPS changed there shipping times and i couldnt get it so it went back to microsoft and they sent me out a second one and my warranty ended the day after i called them. and they still are doing everything for free. so i guess im just a good person and can handle talking to people. sorry for your troubles! but yeah. india does suck on the phone!

I got the three red lights problem about a month ago, I had a launch system so my warrenty was over. I called microsoft and they said they would still fix it for me for free, just said I had to send it myself. It cost me $15, no biggie. I sent it in and recieved a different one in about a week. I think the service was great considering I didnt have to pay for repairs and my orginal warrenty was only the one for 90 days.

Same thing happened to me the other day, I called up because I got the three red lights. I gave all my information and she gave me a number to call in twenty four hours to confirm or something, not really sure because I couldn't understand her. So I tried calling the next day and the number she gave me was wrong because I couldn't understand her.

I hate it when I can't understand them, I had to ask her to repeat what she said a few times and she was getting mad at me.

I have had to send my 360 in twice.  First time took about three weeks overall from when I first called.  The second time took maybe two and a half weeks.  One time I had a lady with an accent but it wasnt from India, spanish more like it.  I have called a few times, checking on the status of my repair and what not.  Most of the time I talk to someone who speaks perfectly fine english, I'd venture to say their support is US based.  Just sounds like you got some bad luck going.

If your paying, your warranty is probably up...

2. This is why I truly hate Microsoft. When the 360 first was released they had good customer support people in America. They paid for everything and you got a console back in a week no questions asked.

Today it takes nearly 4 weeks to get a repaired console back from Microsoft. The support is the worst. Complete idiots. They have no idea what a 360 is. They just read from a computer screen

I will never use Microsoft's support again as long as I live.

I sent mine is last Thursday, and it would have come back today, but no one was home to sign for it when it arrived. So, I will be getting it tomorrow. Less than a week either way, though.

Hobbies, obviously your pro microsoft. If what you people say is right, that they only send you a box when in warranty, then they are douchebags. Real good job screwing the people who were out of warranty. You make them pay 150 dollars plus 20 shipping. I should of just saved another 100 and bought a wii and made a video of me destroying my 360.

If you wanna go buy a Wii, then thats your own business, but don't bring it up in the Xbox 360 forums.

Go to system wars if your going to flame the 360 for no reason.

Sure the repair process sucks, but the 360 is still the BEST console there is. It could have been better, but its not.

Regardless though it is still the best.

I think they only send out a box for extended warranties. The normal factory warranty use to ship boxes out, but they don't anymore as far as I know. Not sure when you are out of warranty and have to pay the fee, but I guess you would have to ship it yourself again too.

I've had 3 consoles repaird, usually a good turnaround time.

Pro Microsoft? No, actually, I am not. I don't see how you can think I sound that way, because all I did was state some facts. I am not exactly for or against Microsoft, Sony, or Nintendo.

lol Wow you guys must have really bad luck. And use really expensive shipping.

I sent my xbox in with USPS, 8 dollars with the insurance included. I got really good help both times I called.

It is currently on its way back, and I will be receiving it tomorrow or the next day. Soccer practice started at my school so I'm gonna be busy regardless. I'm 16 btw.

It's only been gone for a week? Maybe like 10 days-ish. Well hell yeah I love having good luck. Later people.

It took my friend a week total to send his box in and get a new one back. I don't see the problem. You just had a bad experience.
