halo 3 was the main icon for microsoft both as a single player and esp. multiplayer. this game was the king of consoles. Key word "was". Since call of duty came out, it has snatched away the spot from halo 3..in terms of grapgics and gameplay and playability. the call of duty 4 is suppose to be better on the other consoles and PC's.

microsoft really has to step up their game next year, cuz i dont see any good exclusives coming to it except a couple :(

What are you smoking man? Halo 3 has a constant 400k-600k people online. I have yet to log into CoD4 and see more than 150,000. CoD4 has about 75k-100k online constantly. Nothing has taken Halo 3's throne away.

I can't see how a huge corporation like Microsoft can be in trouble and anyway who cares aslong as we get the games on the 360, who care if the PS3 and Wii does. It's us who wins.

Agreed, great game

and another thing...Why does everyone freak out about exclusives????? WHO CARES! As SHARVIE mentioned, as long as we get the game, who cares if its on PS3 and Wii...even better, because then all the fan boys will be crying because their game sucks and ours does not

Even if Mircosoft never makes another game, how much money a year do they make from live subscriptions alone? Not to mention all the money they are still making off other games they have made (Gears and Halo)

There are plenty of multi-platform games out right now, that the 360 is getting better reviews on than other consoles.

If you're going to attempt to make your opinion look like a fact, at least try to make it look as if you put serious thought and consideration to back your theory up.

MS owns lots of game studios

lion head for example

Rare and so on

lots of people support them as well ie mistwalker from japan! JAPAN! japan doesnt even like the 360 that much

Team NINJA

and so on

while they dont ahve a huge falg ship right now, they have a fleet of ships heading to the market.

Microsoft is a business. They wanted Halo 3 to sell consoles. It did this very well, so do you think they care that COD 4 has 'better graphics' and such? They are glad with its success financially and it got good reviews so it was a great success.

I gaurentee more people play Halo 3 than Call of Duty 4. COD4 gets boring once you've hit the cap level. Halo is a much more fun "casual" game imo.

Actually, this year Microsoft's gaming division finally turned profit after 6 years. XBL is part of that division, so I'm nearly certain that MS is making "dollars" off of XBL.

Thinking about it, XBL shouldn't even hurt MS. Considering the fact that it doesn't require much to connect consoles. It depends on the devs and how they want to run their games on Live. Services found on Halo 3 won't be found in R6V. MS publishes Halo, yes, but Bungie is responsible for keeping track of all that. If Ubisoft wanted to, they can have their devs performe services like that of Halo 3.

Even so, the broadband companies are reaping the benefiets of Live on a small to medium level.

This all depends what people are talking about. If it's the entertainment and device division, yes they lost like 1.2 billion or something like that. Overall though their profits rose from last year and they made over 3 billion in profits. Had it not been for the RRoD repair thing they would have made even more.

If Microsoft got out of the gaming industry which will never happen, it would still be bigger than ever. They are not in any trouble whatsoever.

Every company loses money when they come out with a new console and we all know that MS is losing a lot of money, probably more than they should, due to the RROD problems. My question is: how much more are they going to lose due to the new Hitachi drive that apparently sucks. I know that I just got a 360 and it had the hitachi drive so I'm taking it back to try and get a Benq drive. If I don't get it this time I'll just keep taking it back until I do. Why did MS use that Hitachi drive in the 1st place? They had to have known that one of the big complaints about the 360 was that it was really loud. I'm guessing that's why they fixed the problemby using the Benq drive instead. So all was well and people liked the new, quiet drive. Then they decided to go and put in a new drive that's even louder than the 1st drive! Why? Just to piss people off, or do they just want to have more consoles returned? What the hell is wrong with MS?

Why are people so obsessed with COD4. Ive played it and I wasnt too impressed and it didnt live up to all the hype people gave it. The campaign was ok, but I would never really play it gain probably, it was nothing special. It was very repetitive. The multiplayer is decent I guess, but its similar to that of Rainbow Six. The graphics were ok on my friends tv, but the Halo 3 is a game you can always come back and enjoy. The story sucks you in and the battles are always awesome with the many weapons and vehicles. COD4 online will get old for people like Rainbow Six Vegas did and nobody would play it. i think think the other Cod games were better. i like COD2 the best.

There are bunch of great games to come that are being made but haevnt been announced. Games like Rainbow Six Vegas 2, Splinter cell, Unreal 3, Gta 4, and many others.

Nah, Microsoft is the king of MARKETING lol, they'll go to insane heights to sell their stuff. I've heard rumors of paid actors going on the news and saying bad things about the PS3, and things like that. Microsoft doesn't care, I mean, they already charged people to play online! Xbox live is cool though, but man, every other online thing is already free! PC, wii, ps3, all have free online play, and Steam is just as good as Xbl, and it's free!

Gamerscore buying things is pretty cool though, not a selling point for me though.
