Might buy a 360 next week...

I'm interested in getting a 360 as I have the Halo itch and my PS3can't scratch it. I went with a PS3 because of the RROD debacle, and because Blu-Ray movies looked sick, but now I need to pony up and join the dark side. I definitely want to get a system with the new chip set (Falcon?), but I'm not sure what to look for. Getting the quieter DVD drive would be a plus too. Any tips on how to find a Premium or Elite system with those features would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

seriously though. get the orange box. I've got halo and its well worth playing but in my opinion get bioshock or the orange box, the ps3 version is out soon.

sorry to be a technical a$$ here, but 360 is generally white, while the ps3 is black. but whatever, the dark side is cooler and that is definatly what the 360 ismyrtlebeach

mines black. I am the Dark side! muah ha ha ha. From my understanding those processors arent out yet, but they made changes to the board a bit with the Elites. I saw a side by side comparision. Although they had not changed chips, DVD drives etc, the elites have not had any issues that i have heard of.

Besides, they all got the 3year warranty.

pretty sure the pro's with the new HDMI Slots have the new chip and fixed heatsinks do they not?

Check out a holiday pack, comes with Forza (I think) and Ultimate Alliance...it was just released on October 17th, so it should have the new stuff and HDMI

So the Elites are problem free? How about the newer Premiums? I can deal with a noisy drive if I can't find out what I'm buying from just looking at the box... but a system that may RROD on me in a few months wouldn't be acceptable. The Three Year Warranty from MSoft is Awesome, sure, but I'd really rather not have to deal with it all if possible.

If what you guys are telling me is that buying a 360 is still a crap shoot, that's fine, I'll just pick up one at my local Best Buy and not worry about looking for a cherry system, but if there's a way to find a "better" console I'd like to know.
