MK vs DC a success?

I've been watching MK vs DC Universe(Mortal Kombat vs DC comics universe) ever since it was announced, and honestly, as a fan of Mortal Kombat since I played the 4th on N64, I have to admit I thought it would be medicore, even though I personally thought it looked quite good(Despite having DC characters in there).

So, it came out Sunday. So far, the 3 reviews I can call off the top of my head are....

IGN - 7.5

OXM - 8.0

Giant Bomb - 5/5

And I believe Kotaku enjoyed it, not sure. Now if you ask me, all those scores are good, even IGN's, which I know some people here will think sucks because it's below a 9(Seriously, anything below a 9 is crap to some people here. WHY?!) The user average on Gamespot is something like 8.6, which is awesome as well. Sure the game lacks cool fatalities, but it does have its share of bloody awesome ones if you watch them all. There's blood, for the last time. People assume there's no blood because of the Teen rating, but there is a decent amount... Remember in the last few MKS where one punch to the face leaked 2 gallons of blood? Maybe it's for the best a little bit of blood was removed...

Well, I'd like to hear this forums opinions. While most people on the MK vs DC board are loving this baby, I'll admit they're most likely biased. Anyone here like to share their thoughts?

I've dried out Fable 2 and done almost everything there is, it was a good 2 1/2 weeks with it, and as much as I love it, I really need a new game. Bought every last piece of land in the entire game I'm so bored... Not much left to do, really. So I'll be picking up something on Wednesday or Thursday... I am planning to get MK vs DC, unless everyone here says it's pure crap. I just want a new game.

I'd say it looks like a good game. I'm thinking about buying it but i'm not 100% sure.

I wonder when Gamespots review will be up...

i bought it yesterday, and i must say its pretty good. gameplay is good, DC characters are interesting to play with, and story is good as well. im a big mk fan, i had some second thoughts about it, but im glad i bought it. so i say its worth a rent at least. :)

my only complaint is that they could've put some more characters, and some more combos. but overall, its prety good.

Best fighting game ive played since doa 4 and best mk since mk 3. Don't worry its a great game, but only worth it if plan to play online a lot or w/friends as with all fighting games.

the game looks great, cant wait to have a feel for it myself, but definitely not a buy.

probably play it with my buddys but there could've been a way better combination than

MK and DC

Im sure it'll go over well with it's target audiance.... And cuz Batman's on the cover.

But I don't like Mortal Combat or comic book heroes... So I wont bother.
