1) I bet that title makes moderators jump.

2)Im tired of all the modding I've been running into on XBL, its really just destroying the online community. I don't personally mind if someone wants to mod out their xbox and play private matches to use the mods with thier buddies or play offline to manipulate a game, that doesn't bother me. But when they take thier stupid mods online and use them against other players it really gets annoying. Anyone else running into it, it seems heaviest on MWF2 and LFD, but other games are suffering as well.

3) I know of a certain modding website that was mentioned to me by a friend and I can't feasibly grasp how it is able to maintain itself because on the website they clearly mention that what they are doing is illegal(in terms of xbl U.A.) and to use at your own risk and yet they just keep on going.

I just need to rant.

seriously guys, theirs a difference between modding and then cheating, adding mods to a game for the sole purpose of making yourself win in a miatch is CHEATING, please do not confuse that with modding. Modding is something that people do to add in extra things, sometimes create completely news games. You do realize with out a modding community we would never have had portal, Counterstrike, Left 4 dead, Nazi zomies, which was based off of a mod on counterstrike and COD. If your not inot adding extra life into your game and would prefer to trade it in to your gamestop and get ripped off fine by me, jsut dont spread your ignorance and make real legitimate modders sound like the bad guys.

I never said such things about all modders being bad, go re-read my post and youll clearly see where I said people who were using there mods AGAINST other users. I've encounter things such as :

Blocking in maps
Score jacking ( where all the points go to 1 person, the modder)
Changing the damage values of weapons
Changing the healing value of items

Game specific:
MWF2
Starting the match with a nuke, or any ks reward
Altering care packages to drop nukes
AC130's with infinite time
Tactical inserts that cannot be destroyed
Anyone on the team against the modder using "Stopping Power" does zero damage

LFD
Map blocks
Zero recharge timer on infected abilites
reloctation of the witch(post-patch)
Weapons do no damage

there are many more, modding for any of those reasons against the online community is cheap and imo a noobs way of winning because they aren't good enough to win without their mods.

Now, in regards to your uncanny statement I don't mind map mods, weapon mods, etc, etc, that BENEFIT the community as whole and mods like those are usually mention on some sort of website or blog in a modding community an unsuspecting players are not around to be caught of guard. I am a member of Unreal Modding Community as well as several other and thus know the difference between a good mod and a malicious mod. Think twice before replying so hastily next time.

I agree completley. Modding has tarinished PC games for degades and what's supposed to seperate Consoles from PC's. Get a PC if you want to mod is what I say, personally I prefer playing games as they were intended to be played and none of this indie add-in garbage (yay lets add storm troopers in oblivion!)or cheating!

[QUOTE="AlphaJC"]seriously guys, AlphaJC

Since you were post number 3, and "used guys" in your post, I also assumed that you were talking to both Topic creator and the second poster.

My thoughts exactly, otherwise I would have spared my fingers the typing rant. l:lol:

You forget that when you group all modders together you forget those like me that just mode the asthetic looks of their console. My favorite 360 is modded with a custom cut out case, a liquid cooling suystem and nifty green led lights. That does not enable me to cheat in anyway.

Forgive me for my broadness, I wasn't referring to aesthetic mods.

It seems as gaming becomes bigger and more popular the community seems to lose a its sportsmanship. There used to be a time where even if the game permitted it you just didn't do it because it was cheap, or unsportsman-like. It may get down to the point where games will become so convoluted with rules so that modders can't interfere that it will only take away from the games.

This pretty much sums up my fears.

Yea modding games online is pretty lame, and people think it's funny. Just a bunch of miserable people ruining everyone else's fun.
