All of you CoD 4 Vets know where I'm coming from when I say that Modern Warfare 2 on Veteran was made too easy. There were no "stumper" missions (or segments) like in CoD 4, and advancing through the mission was far easier as a whole in MW2. I remember chucking my controler at the ground and crying "impossible!" dozens of times in CoD4, but not once throughout the entire Modern Warfare 2 Veteran campaign.

So let me be the first--and probably only--person to say this; bring back the rooms of infinitly spawning enemies! Yes, they weren't realistic, and yes they could be extremely frustrating, but those rooms full of enemies is what provided the challenge in CoD 4 (and a lot of the times the thrill). In addition, Modern Warfare 2 seems to drift away from previous CoD installments because of the change in design. As much as I love Modern Warfare 2's campaign, it's just not as intense or challengeing as CoD 4 was, and I would like to see a return to form in Modern Warfare 3.

Your thoughts and opinions?

In no way whatsoever do I want the respawns to appear in another CoD game. I'd rather have a game on the hardest difficulty be easier than the earlier games rather than have cheap spawning enemies.

I had a lot more fun with the campaign this time around mainly because there were no infinite respawning enemies, so no I'd rather not have them. Veteran being a bit easier because of that is something I can live with.

the respawning enemies pissed me off in every cod, it was the worst when trying to advance and then all of a suddon there was a fat group of people coming at you and shooting you a million times. WAW had the worst enemy respawn, and the nade spamming was terrible! you couldnt get cover because there would be 5 grenades are your feet.

and it would definitely save me my patience and keep my from having a heart attack from all the anger it brings when you die 30 times in a row to beat a mission lol.

I am speaking on behalf of my friend who LOVES vet on CoD 4. His idea is that not enough people played vet on CoD 4, then say it was to easy. MW2's

Vet, still frustrating, is a joke compared to CoD 4.

Yeah... um, no. I don't mind a challenge but in previous Duties it practically came down to luck at times. I don't enjoy frustration. I don't know many people that do. If anything should be brought back it's 4-player co-op campaign. Such a simply feature that even Treyarch got right. Whats up with that Infinity Ward?

It isn't frustration if you learn when to push, and sometimes, letting AI do the work for you is fine.

It is easier but for me much more enjoyable, i beat it on veteran, if you want a real challenge play spec ops on veteran by yourself....Btw i need snatch and grab, armor piercing, and wetwork and i swear each on of those missions can go die in a hole :)

Is it easier? Yes. Is it more enjoyable because of that? Oh Hell Yes! I HATED the respawning enemies in the older games. Now for people that haven't played it on Vet yet, make know mistake, it isn't easy, you will still die...a lot, but it is much more managable, and like the TC said, I haven't had any 'throw my controler moments'

I actually didnt find Call Of Duty 4 on Veteran that hard. The only difficult missions were One Shot One Kill and No Fighting In The War Room, everything else was simple, even Mile High Club.I havent played MW 2 on Veteran yet but when i get it for Christmas I will play it on veteran on my first playthrough.

I hated that respawning crap.... hope it says dead with COD 4. As far as difficulty goes I felt that MW2 is harder on vet. The freaking AI are like GODS. They shoot from anywhere and actually hit you. Insane. Almost cheap IMHO

I'm with you. I enjoyed COD4 overall more than MW2. I liked the story because it was tougher, and I loved the Mile High Club mission. It took me about a month to beat COD4 where it only took me about a week or so to beat MW2.

LOL...Same here, I actually find the campaign and spec ops more entertaining than the online this year, people can flame me all they want but the multiplayer becomes a bore when every player on the map is camping but you...but hey...at the end of the day its just "great defense" right ?lol

I remember these three levels being the hardest for me on Veteran on CoD 4: One Shot, One Kill; Heat; and No Fighting in the War Room! I never want to play any levels like these any more!

I agree, MW2 was really easy on vet, but on CoD4, missions like One shot, One kill, Heat and No Fighting in the War room were pretty tough on veteran.

Monster closets (soldier closets in this case) are a nuisance. I agree that MW2's campaign was pretty easy on veteran compared to CoD4's, but I don't want another "No Fighting in the War Room". Respawning enemies are the reason why the Snatch and Grab spec-op was so hard and unfair.

Are you seriously that bored that you need an annoying and frustrating feature to raise your blood pressure and anger? What a horrible idea.. I hated the enemy spawns. I don't want to go through a game extremely upset and angry all the time. Don't get me wrong I love a good challenge but the keyword there is good, not cheap. I hate cheap challenges because it just means the dev cut corners and didn't try hard enough to be creative and just said oh well, let's have a million enemies respawn out of nowhere just to anger the gamer. Yeah no.. I'll take MW2's campaign any day.

MW2 on Veteran was much easier than MW1 on Veteran, but no it is not 'too easy', unless you're a troll.

Of course, I think IW should implement a 'Nightmare Mode' to satisfy the truly uber l33t gamers, where you have 1 shot deaths and the enemies do not drop ammunition when they die.

Completing the Campaign on Veteran wasn't exactly easy, but it wasn't hard either. I actually had fun beating the game on Veteran. The infinite re-spawning enemies in COD4 was a little much. It was one after another, especially in the end of 'One Shot, One Kill'. I haven't yet completed it due to frustration, but thinking about giving it another shot. My confidence is much higher after acheiving the goal of beating MW2 on Veteran. I now look forward to the challenge.

I definitely do not want respawning enemies back. Not only in COD4 and WAW did they kill you in 2 shots at worst, but if you stood around for too long grenades are dropped on your position. Sure this made it harder but also amounted to a large amount of frustration. They eased up in MW2 and I'm glad for that I rather have them kill with skill (not really the write word) then pretty much hacks.

The only COD I've beat on Vet is COD2. I beat MW1&2 on Hardened. I didn't enjoy them enough to want to play them again so I didn't try Vet. From what I've heard, COD2 is the hardest to complete on Veteran difficulty. COD2 had the constantly respawning enemies and they loved to throw a ton of grenades at you.

None of the CoD games were hard.. besides MW2 the entire game you would spend just sprinting and hope they don't nade spam where you are going. There is no skill involved with dodging grenades or blind sprinting at infinite AI it's just luck. That stuff is just added to make the campaigns seem longer then they actually are.

The respawning enemies never really bothered me until they decided to have a times mission. To be honest I actually didn't know they respawned until a bit after CoD4 (Beat CoD2 on vet and missing one lvl on CoD4). I mean if you want to play and have fun then why are you playing on the hardest difficulty? For me a sometimes I want a challenge and in the old games Veteran was just that and for the most part were up to par challenge wise, but timing a mission was as fun as me biting off my own hand.

So i would say go back to CoD2 veteran difficulty. Very hard, but no timed stuff (at least from what I can remember). Mile High Club was fine though because thats all the level was. It didn't take 20 minutes to get to timed section (Or however long it took in the other mission).

Modern Warfare 2 on Veteran = kind of fun

Both games on Hardened = a lot of fun

Well if that is what you want then have them do it as dlc just for you. This cod game was they only one i ever did on Hard. plus i did a couple levels on vet. I like shooting a guy and knowing i would never see him again, the game allows for me to be more stratigic with how i go through the game. so like i said if infinate respawns get you hard then request that as dlc for yourself.

So let me get this striaght? You define your gaming experience by how frustrated are? Hmm, well i dont know about you but i have enough things in life that frustrates me enough and i really dont need a game to add to that. I play games to escape reality for a bit, relax and have fun.

But seriously though. like i told the poster. If you guys really feel so strongly about the respawns. I think you should have IW make that available to you as DLC, that way we all can be happy...:)

There was one close to impossible mission for the Rangers, it took place on the ground where tangos took over the white house and were firing down on us, we were surrounded by explosion holes in the ground and trees were fallen, that mission was the only one that really got me stuck.

I prefer the veteran in COD MW2 simply because the respawning in world at war was as frustrating as games got.

Respawning enemies has always been a negative aspect of the previous COD titles...in fact IW has gotten flack for making you kill the same guy twice, I'm glad we finally have a normal more "realistic" in terms of difficulty and gameplay approach to the campaign, previous games were mind nummingly frustrating to complete on Veteran and to the guy who said all COD games are easy...wow are you serious are trying to get reaction out of people ? lol.

A lot easier than MW1, kinda takes out the hard challenge to it. Doesn't really do what it says on the tin - "You Will Not Survive"
