I read in my Game Informer magazine that IW is considering to have a online subscription fee for people who play MW2. If this does happen i probably might sell MW2 because i dont wanna pay extra just to play online. Do you think this actually might happen?

Activision is probably going to push as far as they can in terms of charging users. They've been talking about a Call of Duty MMO since '08 I believe, and since the announcement of a third CoD dev team, I bet that's what they're working on. Probably launching in 2011, and I bet about 2 million people would try it if it was like $5/month. But the usual $15/month for a FPS with MMO elements? I dunno.

There have been rumors that they are talking about a COD MMO with a monthly fee.

i would guess it would be around 5 dollars a month. but nothing would surprise me.

but i'm not sure how an cod mmo would work though.

I am also aware that they are considering something like this. And my answer, no chance in hell. COD is boring now anyway

Haha no way in hell would I ever pay for a subscription fee for any COD game. I wouldn't even pay for Team Fortress 2 and I love that game.

i really cant say, but hey whats new nowadays after reading that EA wants to charge 10-15USD for long demos and still charge full retail price for the item, im not sure what could really suprise me... one thing tho is if they did decide to charge for MW2 they would lose a ton of users, including myself. I think the problem lies with the idiots who would actually pay an extra fee for MW2. There the reason game companies are trying to see new ways on how to take advanatge of users, and if game companies see that they can charge extra for an online game and people will continue paying it will become a standard. I mean hey cash is what makes the world go round.

If they do decide to make a subscription fee, then I would never in my life play another Call of Duty game.

I don't understand at all why people keep contradicting themselves with this game. Your latest played game according to your sig is MW2.

I don't see how they can retroactively place a fee on a game that has already been released as free multiplayer (with Gold of course).

But the way Activision is going, I wouldn't be surprised if the next CoD has a fee attached, MMO or not.

I agree. I would pay them money to burn all copies of MW2
