i know im not the only one checking out thr mw3 vids on youtube, but it just seems like a remake, just some changes to weapons and what not, no new graphics and the same stuff. but on the other hand battlefield 3 is looking pretty promising,anyone else think the same? Im not ragging either about how one game is better then the other, but im looking for new stuff! not the same old crap.

Most CoD's are the same except for different multiplayer maps and campaign.. One of the reasons why I am only purchasing Battlefield this year... Although MW 3 spec-ops and survival modes look interesting...

More or less. It will still be a fun game imo. I wish Activision would give its devs more time with their titles, because I'm confident that IW would look to take more risks and make more significant upgrades/changes if they had more time.

Either way, I loved MW2, and if this is MW2 with fixes, better balance and more variety (ie, Stopping Power not being used by 90% of players) then I'll be happy I guess. Much more excited for BF3, though.

Same here. And I don't use stopping power unless I prestiged and have nothing better for the second perk. I like using cold-blooded, ninja and scavenger with silenced weapons with my smg and grenade launcher with my assault rifles.

First of all, have you ever heard the phrase..."if it ain't broke, dont fix it"? Whether you find the CoD offerings repetitive or not, the facts are that MILLIONS of people buy CoD each time a new one comes out. Sure the Killstreaks could be reworked a bit and some of the Perk combos can be annoying, but the games are fun and entertaining. Secondly, who the heck uses Stopping Power? Better yet, who plays any of the CORE modes? CORE anything is a waste of time. I only play HARDCORE whether its TDM, FFA or TEAM TAC. Lastly, Im am so sick of everyone comparing CoD and BF. The ONLY thing they have in common is the fact that they are both modern miltary shooters. If you hate CoD so much, fine dont buy them. The rest of us will be thoroughly enjoying MW3 this Fall!!!

1) This industry is about progression. It's sad that some developers only aspire to make the same game they made the year before, instead of aspiring to push boundaries, expand their work, to do more with their craft. And even if something has a good formula and doesn't NEED any major rehauls, doesn't mean that large changes wouldn't be welcomed. Good things can get old, played out and boring just like bad things can. CoD is getting there, and some would say it is already there...

2) That's nice, but what's your point?. Millions of people eat Mcdonalds but it is notoriously unhealthy and is NOT quality food in comparison to what tons of other venues/chains serve. Millions of people loved 50 Cent for a good few years, and bought tons of his albums, but of all his releases, only one is something I'd put the "good" label on.

3) TONS of people... It was easily the most used perk of any tier in MW2, right next to Commando and One Man Army... Did you not play the game?

4) The majority of people who play CoD play the Core playlists, not hardcore, barebones, etc... A quick glance at the playlistnumbers could tell you that.

5) That's a big thing to have in common. They are certainly distinguishable games in many, many ways, but they are also very similar.

6) Who said they hated CoD...? I can't like CoD, but BF and other FPS series as well? Just because more people are hyped for BF3 than MW3 on GS, doesn't mean that people hate CoD. BF3 has shown more promise, more innovation, more change, more intensity, etc. ITO.

Everytime MW3 or Battlefield are mentioned I swear it always turns in to some stupid debate. People can play a game no matter how good or crap it is and enjoy it, it's called a difference in opinion. I personally havn't touched battlefield at all but I've heard lots of positive things about it.

But yeah, mw3 will onbviously be another version of mw2, although I've heard some rumours that it'll have mw2 graphics with mw2 gameplay, which I pray to god is true because that would be like the ultimate cod at last!

Did you mean MW2 graphics with MW1 gameplay?

If so, that would make MW3 the best CoD yet. I miss the fast-paced, gun-on-gun action of MW...

It's a sequel, not a "remake". We all know it's not going to be anything groundbreaking as far as gameplay goes. But if you are a fan of the series, it's a must buy. And i'm sure the multiplayer will be as addicting as ever. There is going to be comparisons made to Battlefield 3, but they are really 2 different type of games. COD is more fast paced, and arcade type run and gun, and Battlefield 3 is more of a slow paced, team based game. I will be getting both.

like my friend said: it's a fps how much stuff can you put in it without screwing it up?
Also if people keep buying it the developers will continue to make the same stuff over and over again...

It bugs the s*** out of me when people are comparing BF and MW. They are 2 completely different games and people are always comparing it.

I gotta say that MW3 is just MW2 and BO combined with a little of cod4 in it. Its like a cheese burger, lemme show you below:

Dev's = 2 slices of circular bread

Mayo = Cod4

Cheese = bo

Burger = mw2

See if that does it, its not bad though, but its just the same usual stuff.. Nothing new.

Well it depends what you mean by remake... same general gameplay/experience? Yes.. but that's kind of what people like about the game and that's what they're pushing here. The campaign will be different. Different levels and scenarios. Probably still just as short as the other games. The real interest in this game will be online. New maps, probably new weapons/features/etc. It's a new game, it's just built exactly like the older games. I think it's worth it at least to play online.. but maybe not worth paying 60$ at launch.

Also, just to point one thing out, generally when you get franchise games like this, you should expect similarities of this nature between the games. Ever played any sports games? Ever played any WWE games? Ever played Assassin's Creed games? Bioshock? Star Wars Force Unleashed? Games with multiple iterations have HUGE similarities. Just because MW3 is similar to MW2 and CoD4, it doesn't mean it's the same game.

Two years is plenty of time to do a sequel, but there would never be any risk taken. You don't take one of the biggest gaming franchises ever and then take a risk with it when each subsquent title becomes the new 'best selling title ever'. If sales start flagging they might try new stuff to win people back, but for now you don't mess with the golden goose.
