MODIFIED POLL: Best FPS?

Cod 4 for story and multiplayer

I'll have to say the first Modern Warfare.

I like all of the others, but I say Halo(s) by far. They are much more broad in terms of design, especially once you throw in the futuristic elements and vehicles. So much more can happen in Halo, just get online and watch all the crazy videos. The other games are all awesome, but they are fairly limited in scope (i.e. less variety in weapons, few vehicles, minimal jumping). Although, I could mess around with the grav gun in Half Life 2 for hours.

I really liked the story of MW2, as well as the gameplay style. The campaign mode made me keep wanting to play it on harder difficulties. The multiplayer is really good, though most of the time it's noob toob's and shotgun's from 13 year olds who talk trash in the headset

Of those, I've played battlefield, and it was boring. Really boring. The 4 on 4 aspect would be great if the maps weren't so darned large. I played a whole match and just ran around looking. Never saw a guy the whole time.

I never really got on the Halo bandwagon. The shooting style never really appealed to me. I played a little of the reach beta, though, and that seemed pretty damned fantastic. Never really played TF2, And from what I've seen, Half-Life was pretty bad.

Battlefield for me, I found the multiplayer in battlefield 2 for the PC to be amazing

out of those choices Id have to go with Halo, but personally Id have to say my favorite is perfect dark, I was really happy when rare did an HD remake of the original on the 360.

For me I think that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was the best FPS. It had a great storyline too. I have no idea what the hell happened to MW2.

Why do you throw Halos 1-3 in one category, Half-Life 1,2 and TF2 in one category and keep MW 1 and MW2 separate in their own categories and not include all other COD games. This poll is FAIL.DJ_Magneto

I voted for halo, but TF2 is really close.

Tie between Half Life and Halo. Also for best modern war game: COD 4 Modern warfare (MW2 was a big let down for me).

On 360 Halo, on any platform Half-Life 2 and TF2. :)

Half Life is just plain and simple amazing! No FPS can even touch that game.

You know when i clicked on this poll my first thought was that i would choose MW2 then i realized that I have spent more time on my original Xbox and 360 playing the halo series then i believe any other game. The competition online with the halo series is so intense. Along with fierce competition at higher levels the matchmaking system that Bungie uses just cannot be competed with.

On the other hand you have got Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer which is also fiercely compettitive but the problem with there matching system is that even if your on your second presitige youll still get matched against noobs and people that have finished off there final prestige completely. That to me is a turn off as competition will never increase not to mention that if your skills are lacking and you really arent that good you can still prestige and make your self look good when really your skill levels are quite low by simply playing way too much.

Then you have Counter Strike which i believe is in the top 5 FPS league. There isnt much that can compete with it considering its been around for....Im not even sure, but it has been an extremely long time and people are still playing it. It has the replayability of Diablo 2. The only thing that would make me not put it as number one is that the multiplayer has no global ranking system and even with punkbuster you can still cheat. Which is a very rampant problem and a server with ranking is that there will always be those few guys that cheat (or Admin) there way to the top of the ranking system.

I hope this is a fairly indepth explination of my choice, which by the way ended up being the Halo Series.
