Good idea, or an overheating from hell...
YAY or NAY?

wait til new skins are put out for the slim?
Don't think talking about mods is allowed here. Not that I'm going to narc you out... just saying.donalbane
i was actually going to say the same thing but he didnt have his gamercard in his sig it would take like 2 seconds to report modding to microsoft
but seriously if you want a custom xbox then wait for them to release the new skins for them they have tons of skins for the regular sized xboxs i dont see why they wouldnt make more for the new slim model
i personally would never add anything on top of my xbox like a skin because of overheating

Those giant stickers you call "skins" only put a tacky layer of goop all over the thing and might as well be an insulator for all intents and purposes. Doing an LED mod so that it lights up on the inside shouldn't be too hard, provided you know enough about electronics or there is a power lead you can tap into. LED's for this scale of operation wouldn't even need much power to operate, so it wouldn't be a huge burden on the system, unlike - say - those Nyko Intercoolers that didn't have their own power cord. The 'modding' that Microsoft would be concerned about, would be the kind of modding that allows the console to run unauthorized code, and quite blatantly cheat in online play. An aesthetic modification like this at most would just mean any warranty it might have had is now void.modding the physical outlook of the console is not allowed? i thought its only illegal to mod your console to play pirated games?
That is the case... that other guy is simply confused, or believing far too much of what companies like Microsoft would like people to believe. If such things were indeed illegal, there wouldn't be a whole industry based on it.modding the physical outlook of the console is not allowed? i thought its only illegal to mod your console to play pirated games?

If you are modding the physical appearance of your system you are most likely modding the whole console IE pirated games, hacks, mods etc...
It is silly to void your warranty to make your xbox have lights on it

you cant be serious, you cant report someone for doing an LED mod, its just the way it looks its not like he is wanting to mod it to play pirate games or anything

I'm sorry, but you... are completely ignorant - or possibly stupid - on this regard. You clearly do not know what you're talking about, and are just making yourself look absolutely foolish. Modding the aesthetics of a console has been done since well before the 360, and has been done with the 360 since its launch. Hell, many have even gone further, such as the Xbox 360 laptop. Not to mention that Colorware has been selling pre-painted consoles for years, with the endorsement of the manufacturers, so they still have their warranties intact. They're obviously not in it to sell systems you can pirate with. You've clearly proven you have no idea what you're talking about.[QUOTE="ZzZEVOLUTIONZzZ"][QUOTE="giantqtipz"]

If such things were indeed illegal, there wouldn't be a whole industry based on it. Yeah, I misunderstood. Saw mod in the title and just thought I'd be neighborly and warn the guy. This is ridiculous. One may tear apart there console and "mod" the case any way you choose. Illegal "modding" is the addition of adding functional components that allow one to bypass copyright protection of software via copied games. Big difference.
I prove you demonstrably wrong, and yet I'm the douche? Don't let the door hit you on the way out then. :|@codezer0 Way to be a douche bag? Internet tuff guy aye, I would love to see you try and say anything to my face but i guess i am just ignorant and stupid and you would just talk your way out of getting your teeth knocked in after calling me names to my face right? Seriously gamefaqs? there really needs to be harsher punishments for douch bags like this guy until then i am done with this POS site.
