Wouldnt it be cool if you could make mods for a game on a console, and then they could be availible through the xbox live marketplace for download. That way, you wouldnt need the pc version of a game to download and make great, cool mods

erm, you can mod on the 360, you just need an xport, transfer cable, and hex editing skills (somewhat), but the only real game you can mod on 360 and not risk live ban is tf2

That's not entirely true. The so called "mods" for TF2 aren't really mods at all, they're just server commands. They just change the gravity and turn on friendly fire and stuff like that. Actual third party mods though, that change skins, models and other stuff, aren't available at all on 360, and I think it would be really cool if people could upload their third party stuff to Xbox Live.

Kind of like how I could change the skins and models for weapons, players, and maps in CSS. I've been wanting that kind of ability on my console but I doubt it will happen soon.

Yeah exactly, actual new content, not just modified old stuff. It'd be awesome to have third party maps too, I know the PS3 gets mods... they are able to get Masterchief skins and CoD4 maps onto UT3...
