monitor???

im goin to college in september and i was thinking of getting a monitor that i could plug my laptop into as well as play my ps2, ps3, or 360 on

i was looking at a 20inch widescreen that hp offered because i can get a deal on one, but im not sure if it has video cables that i can use for the videogames...i can also get a deal on most viewsonic monitors so if you guys have any recommendations that would allow me to be able to use it for gaming as well as school work on my laptop that would be greatly appreciated
